this was a tough one, even tho I knew immediately which series I was going for. only ran 9 issues, but practically EVERY issue is a standout cover, and couldn't go wrong choosing any of em: taming Catwoman with a whip? check vs the Creeper? check vs Sherlock Holmes! check. vs Luthor? vs Scarecrow? vs the Royal Flush Gang? check check check ! but I have to go with my favorite, which had the Clown Prince of Crime vs GA and Black Canary (not in costume) in this cover that stood out to me big time on the stands:

I remember getting this in New Mexico after my family picked me up following my summer in Mexico. We all got sick and I read this in the waiting room of a military hospital. I was a big Holmes fan during the mid-70's revival of interest, and I was really disappointed that DC didn't follow up on this, publishing only a single issue. (A maximum of 38 covers remain in week 15 of my secret personal challenge)

^ Never would have guessed that artwork was from a gold/silver age book.
Oops, not a discussion thread

No, please comment! Did it look more contemporary than you thought?

@transcendentalmental ... Loved your avatar and this cover contest is pretty difficult to decide the best one so far.

Comics were two for a quarter! It was in pretty bad shape, but I still have it! One of the highlights of the Joker series. (My favorite is #7, which is one of my favorite Lex Luthor stories.) One notable thing about Joker #4 is that, for a very long time, it was the only comic book with Green Arrow that I liked!
