The genius of this cover is that you never see the severed head at its cut point. It's much more frightening to see the body on the ground.

The genius of this cover is that you never see the severed head at its cut point. It's much more frightening to see the body on the ground. Originally you did. The focus of the drawing was moved up after it was finished. This is per an interview with Al Feldstein.
