No there is nothing wrong with getting British Airways mixed up as a state owned carrier. It used to be but was then privatised, yet kept the name and flag. Obligatory --

Don't judge me, man. Hey it's all good. Maybe just lay off the warthog for a while, change to Mauretanians or Togolese, and change to smoking the heroin and you should make it through the eye of the storm. I cant say the same if you fly British Airways though as they are notorious for having the frumpiest stewards / stewardesses.

what could it hurt to prohibit non-essential passengers from traveling, possibly allowing for what would be an unnecessary spread of the virus that the CDC will have to try and contain. That's something I'd ask the CDC. Not my Facebook friends.

That's something I'd ask the CDC. Not my Facebook friends. I suppose that's true. The petition is signed to the CDC, so I guess the point was to garner enough signers to get the CDC's attention about the matter, anyway, whether or not it'll actually happen.

But what if my Facebook friends include a CDC scientist?
(Actually, my old friend Mike [also my first wife's first husband ... y'all pay attention, because this'll probably come up on a quiz later] doesn't appear to be on FB. And I haven't been in touch with him since 2000. But still.)

There's no need to ridicule me about it. I'm a very anxious person, especially about germs and things like that. You explained very simply why it's very unlikely it will spread, and I was assured by it and have since dropped it.

I'm sure the ebola outbreak already has their attention.

It wasn't meant to ridicule but your posts are a mix of present and past tense. Please dont take medical advice from me. Remember I could be talking absolute garbage and my assurances could be utter nonsense. It's up to you and each one of us to use reliable sources to educate ourselves about things that concern us. however, when you say "what could it hurt to prohibit non-essential passengers from traveling, possibly allowing for what would be an unnecessary spread of the virus that the CDC will have to try and contain. " Countries like Guinee and Sierra Leone are incredibly fragile states and what you are trying to lobby for is tantamount to a trade blockade which will lead to an economic collapse and the potential for civil war and 100,000s of refugees - all of which would be based on no medical evidence whatsoever as i see it. That's how it could hurt.

I don't watch a lot of news, but any that I catch really has just been peddling panic and fear about the matter, and I haven't really heard an opinion on why there shouldn't be some sort of limited flight restrictions, and again, I really do appreciate you explaining why.
