September was my highest reading total of the year (yay!) at a whopping 64 books (boo!), but most of those were my back issues of Life with Archie, and they've proven to be one of the most fun binge-reading experiences I've ever had, so I am not complaining at all! Last year, the highlight for me was reading a drawer full of Disney ducks books; this year it's a spinner rack full of Archie comics. I'm loving it!

The Totals for September was 86, mostly digital from Marvel Unlimited. My local comic store who I've been being from for the last dozen years is closing up so I might just default to digital reading from now on.  Well YIKES. I can't "like" that post, man! |

Only read 89 books this month, although I am not sure why it was that low. I had a lot of down time, especially after spraining my ankle, but I seemed to fill up my time with other things.
Best stuff I read this month was the final 40 or so issues of Master of Kung Fu. It certainly tailed off at the very end, as Doug Moench had left the book, so it was like a series of fill-in issues up until the end, and the art wasn't the strongest at that point either. However, even in its diminished state, it was never truly a bad read, just not up to what had come before.
As for worst thing I read, there really wasn't anything that stood out as a true stinker. I'm still struggling with the pacing in the current Captain America book, but it isn't bad, just not what I expect from a modern superhero book. I know that it is just Coates' way of telling a story, and I accept that, but I wish it would get where it's trying to reach at some point.
I'm at 811 total books read for the year, so I am well within striking distance of reaching 1,000 books read in 2019. I'm about to restart reading The Defenders, which I had tried a few years ago but lost interest around issue #30; now that I am committed to reading it, I'm hoping I can read the majority of it, if not all of it, by the end of the year.

Haven't stopped reading comics, just kept putting off updating my list. The summer was quite and didn't get to anything at all in August, when I was away for the first two weeks, but September and October have been better. I even started making a small dent in the huge backlog of modern books I've picked up over the last few years.

This was probably the most successful month of the year for me. It was my second biggest reading month, my second biggest month for review-writing, and I finished Kirby and Lee's run on Fantastic Four, which was a major check on the old bucket list.

With 34 comics read in November, this is the lowest monthly total for the year. Lots of work hours combined with playing with my grandson robs me of much of my reading time. I have 960 total read and I will probably reach 100 for the year. Maybe.

My reading and reviewing numbers are higher than last year, but still significantly down since before my divorce two and a half years back. My priorities necessarily had to change a lot as I became a single dad and essentially reinvent myself and the life I was living. Still, comics remain a significant part of my life, and 363 books read and 80 reviewed is no small matter.
This is definitely the most Silver Age reading I've ever read, thanks in part to my reading Fantastic Four from the beginning, as well as the amount of classic Archie books I bought and read this year. This was therefore also the most Archie books I've ever read, and the most imbalanced my Marvel/DC split has ever been.

This year I finished at 1030. last year I just fell under 1000 ( 996), so there's that. Too many work hours and a young grandson has taken a lot of my reading time.

Even with taking the entire month of August off from reading comics (had a week alone with my wife while our girls were at church camp, then we left for Wales for 10 days immediately after their return home, then had to settle back into swim season and school right after we got back from that), I still managed to hit my goal of 1,000 comics read, just getting over the finish line at 1,005.
78% of the comics I read this year were "classics". Read all of Master of Kung Fu and am currently working my way through Defenders/New Defenders. Lot of post-Crisis Flash and Green Arrow early in the year, decent amount of Firestorm and Suicide Squad later on. Got some early Bronze Age Batman (thanks again, Secret Santa!) and finally got through a bunch of random one-offs that have been sitting in a box by themselves for years.

Took a couple minutes to actually tally up my total form the list after I updated it with the handful of last minute reads, and wound up with 1343 as my total for the year-736 as singles, 607 in trade.
