Hulk Purple Pants
Famous Jack Kirby Picture Before I went on Vacation ... I was finding another picture for my animated avatar (see left side) and I decided to use the iconic Jack Kirby's picture of the Incredible Hulk and I really dig the Purple Pants and wondering it would be fun for all of us to decide this question. If the Hulk can't wear Purple Pants, what other color you've think would look really good on the Hulk and I've included Green and might have to be another shade of it; and I wish all of you here share that color or post a picture of that shade. I prefer Purple and my other color would be Dark Blue if I can't have it ... and here's a picture of that here. This picture above me was the original picture for my avatar and I decided to use the one on top and felt that picture is more impressive and iconic. So, get your creative thinking and share the color of his pants and share your thoughts about it. I'm curious what your answer be? FYI: I also changed both Wonder Woman and Zatanna pictures too. |

Black Velvet!
My understanding of the Marvel color scheme is that heroes were given primary colors and villains were given secondary colors, so that in scenes of close combat everybody would be sure to be wearing different colors. The Hulk was envisioned as someoen who would come into contact, with heroes, so he gets secondary colors.
This isn't 100% of course; Ben Grimm is orange, and Magneto has more red than purple. But overall the generalization holds up pretty well.

I decided to change my mind ... regarding this current avatar ... I changed the Hulk, Wonder Woman, and Zatanna. I felt the forever option is just not me anymore and felt kind of out of place. I'm thinking of changing it on a weekly basis ... and haven't made my mind up. |

I remember years ago someone had the explanation that no matter what color pants Bruce was wearing the energy released when he transformed into the Hulk turned them purple (yeah gotta love comic book science)

I had to vote other. What about a nice Paisley Pattern? Why no Plaid Suit since he is a "professional" scientist/professor type? What if he were of Scottish decent and chose to wear a kilt in one of the classic Tartan patterns (whatever you do, don't look up when he leaps overhead)? Beige/brown Corduroy anyone?
Red Flannel pants? Polka Dot bottoms ala Dusty Rhodes? Just so many fashionable options available these days to shop from...
