Choosing 1979 as the year was a no-brainer for me, as it's my favorite year in comics. And this is simply one of my favorite comic book covers ever:

One of the first (if not the first) Marvel/DC comics I ever got. I remember being terribly excited by seeing all those heroes and villains lined up in one single place like that. Sentimental reasons aside, this still holds up as a great piece of artwork, in my opinion, and I really do love these old covers with speech balloons and those enticing narrative caption boxes. This issue of Justice League America is from July 1979, by the way.

May 1959, before it all changed when four people took an ill-fated rocketship ride. Years before this book would be the home to a Golden and Red, White & Blue Avenger. A young John Buscema draws a cover of aliens, once again trying to conquer Earth.
I will not be around next week. So enjoy this cover, give it a like or an honorable mention. But I won't be able to do anything if it were to win.

Well, since tarkintino took my obvious choice, I'm going for one of my favorites that's a little off the beaten path. I absolutely love the incredible amount of detail that Marie Severin and Frank Giacoia put into this August 1969 cover:
