One of the first (if not the first) Marvel/DC comics I ever got. I remember being terribly excited by seeing all those heroes and villains lined up in one single place like that. Sentimental reasons aside, this still holds up as a great piece of artwork, in my opinion, and I really do love these old covers with speech balloons and those enticing narrative caption boxes.  This issue of Justice League America is from July 1979, by the way. |

May 1959, before it all changed when four people took an ill-fated rocketship ride. Years before this book would be the home to a Golden and Red, White & Blue Avenger. A young John Buscema draws a cover of aliens, once again trying to conquer Earth.
I will not be around next week. So enjoy this cover, give it a like or an honorable mention. But I won't be able to do anything if it were to win. |
