I have been reading this group for some time and I get about 3-4 books at a time and awaiting #12, #13, and #14 to come to my home and get caught up reading this group that I liked so well. I was wondering if there is any fans of this group and please vote for your favorite member and state your reasons why? And, a bonus question ... if you have time ... If you were to take one member out of this group and replace it with another member in the DC Comics Universe; who would you replace to make this group even better. I'm very interested in hearing what all of you have to say about this group that I really grew fond of.

My Favorite Member is always Plastic Man ... it's a no-brainer to me! Loved him in JLA when Grant Morrison had him there and he is a DC Comics most unique member and gives me lots of laughs and quite versatile in more ways into one. I would replace Phantom Girl with the Legion of Superheroes ... either Duo Damsel or Triplicate Girl because it would give the group more interesting Dynamics and make it more in tune of Doom Patrol look because I feel that Triplicate Girl would do more than Phantom Girl and make it more versatile and a totally new dynamics. Duo Damsel would be my 2nd Choice. I'm wondering what is your favorite and replacement heroes are.

Favorite: Plastic Man. Metamorpho would be in the #2 slot.
Replacement: Replace Mr Terrific with the Atom (Ray) or Dr Mid-Nite or Replace Phantom Girl with Firestorm or Bulletman.

Wow! I've never, ever heard of the Terrifics. I had no idea that this super-team even existed. I guess that's because I'm really a Marvel guy at heart. Great that this place still has the power to surprise with threads about superhero teams that I've not encountered.
As for who my favourite would be...Plastic Man's the only character among them that I've ever come into contact with in a comic book, and I always detested him. So, yeah...I got nothing.

It's actually a new team (made up of established characters) created by Jeff Lemire. They also crossed over into Tom Strong's world. And a crossover with Swamp Thing. Even though it is a newer title it has an old school Silver Age feel to it.

Shouldn't this be in the Modern Comic thread-the team isn't 10 years old, let alone the comics?
I bought the first few issues (as I did for all the New Age of heroes books) and wasn't that impressed. It felt like I had seen it all before, just with different characters playing the parts. It's part of the 100 page Wal Mart Giant line up inthe Superman book, and I have read a few after I stopped buying, and it got marginally better, but the constantly changing art team hasn't helped the book gain its own identity and not feel like a retread of stuff I've seen done better before because it keeps the book from having its own unique visual identity.
I'm a huge fan of Jeff Lemire, but this feels like a lot of his other DC work where it seems he is phoning it in and saving his best stuff for his creator-owned work, because all of his work for hire stuff has been a notch below the creator-owned stuff he has done.

One of the few "new" series I have continued to follow. With it's old school feel and characters I enjoy, this is a better read for me than what else is out there. It was a bit looong in the set up but I can forgive that aspect a bit as none of these characters have ever worked together or known each other before. So taking such an unlikely group and having them stay together after 1 issue made no sense. Their working and arguing and finding a personal connection among themselves made sense as the story developed. Beyond their initial reason for being a team trapped together it was interesting taking this uniquely marvelous quartet on a journey becoming friends and "family" on the way. In answer to @mechagodzilla question: there isn't anyone on the team I would change. Rather I think it would be fun and crazy if a similar team was around mirroring them from the LOSH. Place Braniac 5 in as Mr Terrific/Mr Fantastic, Blok as the Metamorpho/Thing, Sun Boy as the Plas/Torch, and finish with Dream Girl or Princess Projectra as Phantom Girl/Invisible Woman. Give them Doom Patrol's villains Brain and his hairy love Monsieur Mallah with Madame Rouge and Mr 103 and Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man then you have instant a Frightful Four or Fatal Five equivalent. Some kind of fun ensues! Hawkman and Flash being the other monthly series I follow. Nothing from Marvel

Yeah, this should've been in the Modern Comics forum. Confessor ... Could you move this to the Modern Comics Section. Sorry about that and mrp is right. Thanks. Not a problem, Mecha. I'll move it now.

This is one of the few new comics I've staying caught up on (Hawkman, Freedom Fighters, Doomsday Clock, Shazam, Fantastic Four).
It's a lot of fun. I've greatly enjoyed what work of his I have including Bloodshot Salvation and Black Hammer.
The team is great as is, and I love that Lemire has added the Tom Strong family of characters, hopefully as ongoing guest stars similar to how the Silver Surfer or the Inhumans would guest in the Fantastic Four now and again.
I'd like them to focus more on Phantom Girl as she's a new character.

One of my favorite books! Not sure I would switch anyone out as I like the dynamic of the team. I'd like to see them have an adventure with Firestorm.
