Hawkman # 13 Nice done in one issue with a World War I vibe, yes. Solid Not sure if Conrad stays on after this issue or not, but the art was decent and even reminiscent of Bryan Hitch. 7/10 I thought the art kind of looked like it belonged to one of Kubert's sons myself.

Yeah I could see that, Andy or Adam. I get them mixed up.

Hawkman 13: certainly a change in tone from the more sweeping epic than the first 12 issues, and I enjoyed this tidy little story. Cool seeing Hawkman chill out and reminisce about his pasts and how heroic he was in that incarnation—very cool how he ended the war. The art was nice, although he didn’t get to draw much other than the same type scene over and over. Nice to see the pensive side of Hawkman. 7/10

Jughead's Time Police #1. Written by Sina Grace. Art and Cover by Derek Charm. Jughead messes up his Riverdale Annual Bake-Off pie recipe and is disqualified and banned from all future Bake-Offs. Jughead decides to "fix" this with Dilton's help... by creating a time machine. There was a mini series back in 1990 with the same title and concept. In fact January McAndrews from that series appears here. It is nice to have another Jughead focused title! It also helps that Charm is the artist. He also did some of the art in the New Riverdale Jughead series. Jughead "fits" this type of offbeat story. And the writing is top notch (pun intended) focusing on Jug's "unique" quirks. I love that Archie Comics is trying different concepts from the past and updating them into the New Riverdale style. Fun issue. 9/10.

The Immortal Hulk #19. Written by Al Ewing. Art by Joe Bennett. Wow that was intense! This issue was disturbing in a good way. Seeing the Hulk helpless, scared, begging for help... man it just amplified the terror in this title. Of course Bennett's art again is stellar bringing the scenes of horror to life in a vivid way. Best This Week. 10/10.

Hawkman #13. Written by Robert Venditti. Art and Cover by Will Conrad. An interesting twist on Carter being reincarnated over and over switching sides in an ongoing war. A decent done in one. Conrad did a good job on art. 6/10.

Archie #705. Written by Nick Spencer. Art by Sandy Jarrell. Another amazing issue. Archie outsmarts Betty & Veronica in the Riverdale Bachelor contest by picking... Cheryl! as his "girlfriend". He appeals to Cheryl's need to be in the spotlight to get her to go along with it. Both he & Sabrina are relieved to be able to keep their romance secret. Why? Sabrina has a vision that something bad is coming to Riverdale. Meanwhile Jughead & Reggie continue their investigation into Reggie's dad's mystery. And Betty & Veronica are friends again until the next issue when a new problem arises that they will be on opposite sides about... Spencer has really made this title his own. Similar to Waid's run. Light hearted but with more serious undertones. 9/10.

Invaders #6. Written by Chip Zdarsky. Art by Carlos Magno and Butch Guice. Namor finally goes to war with the surface world by flooding it. Cap and him clash. Jim Hammond lies in pieces. Mixed feelings. On one hand Zdarksy is using old tropes with the characters that we have seen umpteen times before. On the other he usually puts an unique twist on old stuff like this to make it interesting. Time will tell. I still hate Namor's new costume. I also dislike Jim getting "dismantled" yet again. 6/10.

Superman #12. Written by Brian Michael Bendis. Art by Ivan Reis. OK Bendis this is much better! Superman, Supergirl, Superboy and Krypto! all united. Great epic space scenes. Cosmic war. I really hope after this story concludes we never see Zaar again. As always beautiful art by Reis. 7/10.

Flash #72. Year One: Part 3. Written by Joshua Williamson. Art by Howard Porter. The Flash defeats the Turtle but is injured. The Rebirth origin of the Flash continues in this issue. This issue "suffers" a little from being one of the middle chapters. But overall I have been enjoying this version of Barry's origin being retold. 7/10.
