Looks like San Diego Comic Con will have a live in person convention Thanksgiving weekend this year (assuming of course that they have finished using the convention center for refugee housing by then as it was recently announced they were converting the convention center to that use). The announcement has created some backlash in the Hollywood and comic communities because of the timing as it would force guests/attendees to miss family holiday gatherings, moreso since last Thanksgiving was limited for many by the pandemic. -M

DC announced that in July Jon Kent would takeover the Superman title by Tom Taylor and John Timms. It will be renamed Superman: Son of KAL-EL. Action Comics will continue to star Clark on a mission on Warworld by the current creative team.

Marvel just saved me a TON of money by announcing that the previously-canceled facsimile copy of Werewolf by Night #32 (it had been scheduled for some time last year) will finally be released in July.
And just like that, the last expensive floppie on my Want list is taken care of for less than a fiver. Everything I'm looking for now is relatively inexpensive or else can be found in the bargain bins.

I could never afford Avengers #1 and 4.

I could never afford Avengers #1 and 4. I do as well. Incredible Hulk 180-182 are the True Believer, Milestone, or Facsimile versions. As well, my New Mutants 98 is the TB version. I sold my "real" copy of that book when someone offered me $350 for it just after the TB edition was released, and since I don't have any affinity for the character, that was a no-brainer deal.

CBR announcement for coming out August 4th from Binge Books. Heroes Union. 68 pages for $4.99. Unites a classic comics trio for us fans once more. Roger Stern writing, Ron Frenz penciling and Sal Buscema inking.
They show a pair of very classic style covers for the 1st issue. Very little details but the Triumphant Trio reunited in Unca Rog, Frenz and Our Pal Sal is enough reason to look forward to this. Looks like Binge Books is trying to start up comics in a European "annual" style format.

Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley will be the new creative team on Hulk this fall Had to look online to see what Ottley's art looks like. Interesting style. Saw lots of his own sketches or drawings and seems he has a bit of the macabre or dark sense of humor. The several Hulk drawings I found looked good, giving size, volume and sense of power so it might be fun.

I'm just glad Betty Ross isn't a redhead.
I can't look at Ottley's Mary Jane without thinking of Atom Eve.

Fables will return to DC in May of 2022 with Issue #151, but first Bigby will crossover with Batman. Not sure how I feel about either of these. The original Fables was a tale of two tales. The first 75 issues were great, the last 75 were occasionally very good but rarely better than that, but it definitely limped to the finish line. I'll probably pick it up, but like the first time around, I'll trade wait it, since it always read far better as a binge rather than month-to-month. As for the crossover, I would much rather it be clearly identified as an "Elseworlds" kind of story, as I don't like to think of Fables existing within the mainstream DC heroes universe.

I don't know.. done well... a Bigby/Batman 'first the fight, then the team up' story in silver age fashion could be pretty good.. could be terrible, too, but I"ll deifnitely check it out.
Are they really starting at #151?? That's crazy!! If Willingham has more stories to tell, I'm definitely excited to read them. I agree the 2nd half of the run wasn't as brilliant as the first half, but there were still some great moments.. even at it's worst Fables is better than most other stuff out there.
