Very cool to see him get to do his Fantastic Four story.
Back Issue magazine did a great article about his doomed 2017 FF pitch and ever since I have wanted to see him tackle the characters.

Jeff Lemire signs exclusive deal with ImageIt's a deal similar to the Brubaker deal. from the article/press release... Not sure what it means for books already at other publishers (like Black Hammer at Dark Horse), but all new projects will be at Image. He had a project or two at some of the big book publishers GHN departments in the works as well, but those might be completed and awaiting publication already. -M

I mean, I'll be sad not to see a follow up to his Robin and Batman or more Swamp Thing for instance but his solo stuff has always been amazing. I do wonder though, like you, if Black Hammer will move to Image with him or perhaps if it just means it's over. I guess we'll see.

Another website carrying the story has a further clarification from Lemire... So Black Hammer gets finished at Dark Horse, current DC deals get finished and substack stuff appears online but goes to print at Image. -M

Very nice, I haven't gone in on substack and it doesn't sound like my thing but if it makes him money it's good with me.

Looks like Archie Comics has a new Editor-in-Chief, though he is not new to the company...Mike Pellerito. Hey Crimebuster, are you familiar with him or what he might bring to the table for Archie? From the BC article it doesn't look like they have a whole lot of new material on the way outside of a handful of short stories to include in the digests and the Archie Meets Riverdale one-shot. -M

Archie hasn't put out much new material for a couple years now other than one-shots and such, with all of their classic titles now dormant including Archie. It kind of feels like they are living off reprints and TV money now. Hopefully I'm wrong and they figure out some new way to function that leads to more comics, but it's worrysome.

It's interesting that Skybound is going in for licensed properties.

While I'm usually not terribly bothered by ebb and flow nature of superhero comics these kinds of "events" do make it hard...I mean, who's shocked anymore?
