Titan Comics has acquired the comics license for Conan and other Robert E. Howard characters. A new Conan the Barbarian series will launch in May 2023. Titan has already been working with the Conan rights holders to produce new prose Conan books and has a new series of Conan pastiche novels set to debut this October as well as a behind the scenes book about the Conan movie. Story here Roquefort Raider -M I'm just waiting for somebody, anybody, to reprint the Truman King Conan stories so they're reasonably priced for me. I think Marvel has an Epic volume including one of them scheduled, but I don't want waste space and money on the other included stories. I haven't seen the solicitation but there's like 4-5 Truman King Conan series (Scarlet Citadel, Wolves at the Border, Phoenix on the Sword, Hour of the Dragon (split between 2 minis)which is more than enough to make an Epic volume on their own. Dark Horse did not do any other King Conan material, so unless they include some of the older Marvel material form the OGNs or the one 6 issue King Conan mini by Aaron (which is still being released as singles) I'm not sure what other non-Truman material would be in such a volume. -M

Wow! I'm curious whether they will go with their own talent, new people, or established fandom writers. Wouldn't it be incredible if they brought Doug Moench out of retirement? Don't know, we'll have to wait for those announcements. I'm sur ethe Moench stuff will get collected editions (omnibus? Epic Collection?) but no idea how they will go about new stuff. -M No announcements yet, but someone has scoured Amazon for upcoming Marvel solicitations and found this: I would think it would need more material than 11 issues to fill an omnibus. but there have been a few slimmer omnibus editions. -M

It contains two of the Truman stories, plus "Conan and the Midnight God" and "The Phantoms of the Black Coast". A Truman-only King Conan Epic collection would have been preferable. Especially since I doubt that Marvel will squeeze out a second Epic book with the remaining Truman stories, I'll wait and see what the next rights-holder does.

Midnight God was a decent mini from Dark Horse. I've not read Phantoms.

The current incarnation of Valiant may be coming to an end. There have been a lot of issues with late payments to creators and yesterday almost all their senior staff including publisher and sales director updated their status as former employees of Valiant. Calls to the publisher seeking a statement weren't returned.
They invested heavily in film, selling an option slate for 5 movies, only one of which got made and that bombed, and invested heavily in NFT and ran into issues on fulfillment there, and they were down to only a small handful of titles. Whether this is the end of the run, or just another valley in their checkered history is unknown at this point, as they are not returning requests for statements or info, so we will have to wait and see, but with late payments to creators, they are burning bridges in the comic community quickly.

too bad.. I really enjoyed the last X-O series (With Aric having an Elon Musk-like frenemy) and the last Rai was also quite good.
I an see how the deconstructed approach (running just a couple series at a time) is highly suseptible to disaster. Also, NFTs? Really? Not every new thing is the next best thing.

I knew the writing was on the wall as soon as they let go of Dinesh and the rest of the people that helped facilitate Valiant's revival
It's just sad that they're going out with a such a pathetic whimper
