I'd be more likely to buy it if Russell had done all the artwork, but I'll still give it a look. I like Ordway and Mignola too, but I'm not sure how their styles would translate to this kind of thing.
The Barry Windsor-Smith news is the really big story here, for me: very happy to hear that he's not only still working but will have a new work coming out in the near future.

Barry Windsor Smith put this out there today...  and Bleeding Cool picked up on the story. No word on an exact release date, publisher, or price, though, but BWS has indicated he has finished the long gestating project. -M I had given up hope!!! Yay!!! What's next, will we finally see Steranko's Chandler: Red Tide be reprinted, as was announced decades ago? |

BWS has been working on this for decades. It was originally going to be a Bruce Banner / Hulk graphic novel.

Mignola's style was made for big mythological stories, so I imagine it will look amazing. |

I like all the REH characters but none of the comics versions of the last several years has ever caught my eye...
I thought the two Solomon Kane mini series that Scott Allie and Mario Guevara did for Dark Horse were pretty good.

I think it's one of those things I'll need to see some samples of before deciding if I want to read it - but I suppose that's true of comics in general, the artwork is such an important part of the whole, especially in a case like this, where the only reason to read the comic instead of Gaiman's book, or even some other collection of Norse myths, is to see how the artists handle the stories. |

Dune is getting a 3 part Graphic Novel adaptation by Abrams Books.Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson will script, with Bill Sienkiewicz is doing the covers and they dropped his version of the logo:  The art team will be Raúl Allén and Patricia Martín (who worked on some Valiant books I believe), they dropped a few designs:    |

The article makes no mention of that being the case (and it being EW they would play up that fact), so no I don't think so. I will reserve judgment on the art until I see the settings and ships, page layouts, etc. as these are just character turnarounds and those are more about providing visual reference for costumes/appearance than they are about storytelling, expression, dynamic layouts or what have you, and artists often work in a stripped down sketch style for turnarounds rather than using their full bag of tricks and full-blown artistic style on them. Sometimes (in the case of the Toth turnarounds for Super Friends or other HB stuff) they can reveal a lot about the artists style/work, but those times are the exception not the rule. And in this case it tells me nothing of what the artists sense of composition, page or panel layout, or visual storytelling chops are. -M PS my reservations are more about Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson's involvement than anything as both seem to lack any vision in anything they do and there work is derivative and in Anderson's case rarely exceeds the level of competent. The last thing he did I actually enjoyed were some of the X-Files prose novels back in the 90s. |

Kevin Anderson is, IMO, the worst professional writer ever. I don't get why he gets these gigs.. maybe no one else wants them?
The Norse Mythology series sounds awesome... definitely want a big 'ol HC for that one!

I'm actually a pretty big Anderson fan myself. I really liked the Star Wars Legends books from back in the day, and I've enjoyed all the Dune books he co-wrote with Brian Herbert. I'm interested to see what they come up with.

Maybe the Dune books are better than the Star Wars stuff... I tried reading the first one it couldn't get through it. He also co-wrote Clockwork Angels with Neal Peart (RIP).. that was OK, but only because Neal Peart is amazing.. . the writing style and such (that one would think would be the purpose of bringing in a professional) was awful. His books were the first ones I didn't like when I was reading the old EU... the hutts build a Death Star? Really? Kyp Durron might as well have been named 'Mary Sue'. Perhaps there were some good bits in there that got overshadowed, but ugh. |

 The co-star of Tom King, Mitch Gerads, and Evan “Doc” Shaner's Strange Adventures maxi-series has been revealed to be Mr. Terrific.King has been hinting about a mystery co-star on the book and Mr Terrific is a really interesting pick. I know I am really looking forward to seeing what King has in store for us. |
