I got mine a few days back. It's next up on the reading list. Just have to finish up a book of Gil Brewer short stories.

Received a very nice reward after a hard Monday's work when I got home. My copy of Cei-U! American Comic book Chronicles had arrived and was sitting on my front porch. Looking forward to a few nights reading with a hot cup of tea while edumacating my brain cells. Flipping through I am amazed at all the information, details and work put into this book. You are to be commended sir and possibly committed? Also, I noted that inside was a Twomorrow's flyer with other books of interest with the very last ad was a coming soon in early 2020 for the next edition of our esteemed Grand Dictator's continuing studies from 1954 forward! Since Twomorrow's was having a sale when I ordered this, I went ahead and also purchased the 2 1960's books and the singular 1970's book. Will have to get the 1950's in 2020 as they advertised a new reprinting since all they had in stock were digital editions. May go ahead and get the 1980 and 1990's after the holidays since those 2 would cover my own buying years for the most part.

Began reading our esteemed Cei-U! American Comic Chronicles: 1940's part one. Oh boy I will have to re-evaluate my guess as to reading this one over a few nights. The depth and details of history explored here is incredible. Ever since Steranko's books I quickly developed an interest and desire for reading the classic 40's stuff. Truly Kurt, I can say with all honesty you have surpassed Steranko and outshine him in creating an atmosphere of desire for exploring these amazing books of which few of us will ever own or read. While the books is full and abundant in colorful covers and pages meant to inspire and drool upon, it is the writing that stands tall here. I will read through a page so quickly in devouring it all and that once I finish the page I then slowly go back and read it again. There really is just so much to be found and think upon afterwards. I have read the 1st chapter now 3 times over!! Not because I am dumb or that there is too much or from it being confusing. Quite the opposite in that I am finding so much to enjoy in delving into a world of comic books in my past which influenced readers of the day while inspiring and creating a new world of comics for the future. I really wish PUBLISHERS would focus on recreating that sense of fun and adventure and excitement from the past into today's comic books. There are so many past characters and concepts which would benefit from creative exposure today and would be so much more fun and interesting than what is being crafted from today's writers and artists. I wish I could take a time machine back to purchase up by the hoard any and all of the comics from the 1940's as I would gladly spend the rest of my life reading them over most anything of today. Thank you Mr. Mitchell for showing me and others the exciting past with your keen insight and research. You will see more from me in this thread as I continue trying to absorb all you have to offer. And NOT to rush you, but hurry up already with Part 2!!!! I already want and need more writing from you

I ordered through another seller and it's probably on the slow boat. Good things come to those who wait hopefully. Those All Star Companions would be worthwhile just for the great covers, maybe someday...
