When I don't have a specific strategy for finding a cover that fits the theme, I have several series that I scroll through, hoping that I might find something off-the-wall, or maybe I'll think of a better strategy while I'm scrolling. This is how I end up posting a Tiger Girl cover from Fight Comics every once in a while. I love Tiger Girl!
Another title I scroll is Little Dot. Those gag covers on Little Dot cover a lot of ground! But I checked Little Dot and Little Dot Dotland and there are no suitcases! And while I was scrolling, I thought of several Little Dot suitcase covers! Her suitcase is shown and all the stickers of all the places she's been are round! Ha ha! Because they are DOTS! Or she's in a hotel while traveling (maybe the Eiffel tower or the Sphinx can be seen out the window) and her suitcase is on her bed and it's open … and it's full of dots!
Or there could be one where she goes to a country called Dotland and the title is "Dotland Uber Alles!" and Little Dot is carrying a suitcase and she has a little black dot under her nose as a moustache and …
Well, you get the idea. Harvey missed out on a lot of great suitcase covers for Little Dot.
I did not come up with any great suitcase cover ideas when I was looking at Tiger Girl covers. All she owns is a knife and she just carries it. She doesn't need a suitcase.
I will go back to looking for suitcase covers.

I sometimes scroll thru Fawcett Captain Marvel covers, but my go-to strategy, which I used again this week, is to start with a Story Title search at the GCD, sorted by date because I always prefer that. Then on the Search Results page I search for "cover". Once I identify a good cover, I do a google search to get an image to post since we can't use the GCD for that. There's usually a usable image at comicvine; that's my default site for cover images.

Mad Magazine and Little Lulu for me. If nothing springs to mind, I'll check Little Lulu, Bob Hope, or Jerry Lewis. GCD does not allow hotlinking of their images. -M Yeah, but I'll use it to brows, especially if i know the series but not the issue number. (But I can burn a lot of time if all I remember is "some pre-code Atlas horror book.")

I should have mentioned Little Lulu. That's where I go if Little Dot fails me.
