New 52. Classic looks like Supes got a little confused in the phone booth and put his undies on the outside. At least they're clean!

Fleischer cartoon and Kingdom Come. One realistically informs the other, and both are not too colorful for a being that is--at the end of the day--an alien. His costume should not be too bright.

Fleischer costume; I just love the red-on-black "S" bordered in yellow. Pair that with the Kingdom Come belt, and I think you've got the perfect Superman costume. So you're not fan of yellow in the costume? Personally, I like the splash of yellow to provide some contrast with the darker blue and red colors.

Between the New 52 & Cavill versions, I can't decide which of the two is my absolute least favourite Superman costume. They're equally abysmal. Even worse than Blue and Red?

Honestly, I don't hate the electric Superm(e)n. In retrospect, I'm glad they eventually restored his regular powers, but at the time I was reading those stories, I enjoyed them immensely; it was the first time in years the Superman titles had captured my interest.

I like some yellow in the costume — the border around the "S", the belt buckle, even trim around the boots — but I prefer some black in the mix to make the surrounding colours pop. Also, it gives the character some visual edge without going to colourlessly dour DCEU extremes.

I like the Max Fleischer cartoon version best, but also the '50s tv version... The original was simply influenced by circus strong man characters, and the cape was a visual way of showing what direction Supes was moving in, or if he was flying.

Classic Blue/Red/Yellow all the way. Stands the test of time and marketing and is the "go to" version EVERYBODY" instantly recognizes.

Man, I grew up watching this all on a Black and white TV set. It wasn't til years later that I learned that the suit was colored in brown to highlight the differences before they converted the Show to color.
