Another thing jarring about that 1966 Hulk cartoon is the theme song. Its is terrible! It sounds like the theme song for a goofy sitcom, not for a cartoon about a man-monster antihero.
Also, I guess like the OP I tend to think of the 1982 Hulk's voice when I hear the voice in my head.

That 1966 theme song is terrible. If I was to date someone, and I had that show on in the room, I would fast-forward through that. It's cringe-inducing.

I generally ignore theme songs, as they are not really representing the content. That's certainly the case with the 1966 Hulk, which was extremely serious, utilizing some of the most appropriate library music imaginable, which fit the drama, sadness, superheroic fantasy and cliffhangers that were the calling card of the series.

Banner: John Ritter Hulk: something Frank Welker would've voice, or Thurl Ravenscroft

The "library music" was good, some of it I recognised, having heard it in the Thor episode where the God of Thunder took on Hercules.

I don't know whom he sounds like when he talks, but when he sings, he sounds like Tom Waits.

Maybe they got it right in the parody; the Infraggable Krunk? Like the tribute band taking over for the real deal, the person who does the voice for Krunk could take up the torch!

I will say this: as far as animated Bruce Banner is concerned, Michael Bell all the way for me. Always!

HAHAHAHAHA....wow. I know, right? I'd never seen or heard that before. I think it's amazing! Dig those lyrics and the attrocious -- so bad they're good-- rhymes... " Doc Bruce Banner Belted by gamma rays Turned into the Hulk Ain't he unglamo-rays! Wreckin' the town With the power of a bull Ain't no monster clown Who is as lovable As ever-lovin' Hulk! HULK!" I mean, seriously..."unglamo-rays". Genius!

I don't really hear an actual "speaking" voice but instead having read so much Hulk growing up I "hear" HOW he speaks. Hulk Smash. Hulk hate army. Hulk Like Beans. I wonder though, how does Hulk's flatulence sound? Like a sonic boom? A volcano erupting? The roar of a Tyrannosaurus? Just gotta ask!
