I use caffeine pills, 30 minutes before exercise, as a cheap and effective boost as opposed to those gimmicky pre-workout mixes. I typically just drink a mug of coffee 30 minutes prior, since I limit myself to two pills max a day.

Also, I only use unsweetened almond milk and Stevia.

I drink mine creamy...
Either condensed milk, evaporated milk, or creamer...or a combination of 2-3.
Plus 2 teaspoons of brown sugar.
Can't drink either coffee or tea black (with the exception of Earl Grey or herbal/fruit flavoured)...

I'll always be in awe of people who can drink coffee black. I think it would be easier for me to down straight bourbon.

Usually I'm stuck with instant in the mornings as I'm rushing out the door for school. Two scoops of coffee crystals, 5 scoops of creamer and whatever sugar fits in the cup after water is added. I like my sugar.

Also, I only use unsweetened almond milk and Stevia. I drank soymilk for close to 20 years, probably, with occasional detours into almond or rice, but of late I've stuck to almond. Took a little getting used to (which doesn't make a lot of sense, since just how prominent could the flavor be when mixed with coffee & caramel syrup ... must've been mostly if not entirely psychological on my part), but now I quite like it. The couple of times I've had Stevia, I've not liked the aftertaste. Not that saccharine (Sweet'n'Low, in this case) is by any means ideal in any number of ways, but I guess it's what I'm used to.

Thats the way I picture you, Slam. A two-fisted crusader for justice, who, if he was a smoker, would be the unfiltered kind. The bag of potatoes throws me off somewhat

Coffee drinking was a coming-of-age ritual for me. As a youngster at family dinners, after the meal was over, the children were dismissed and the adults remained at the table for coffee and adult talk. One of the stages of my maturity was being allowed to remain and join them for coffee. Next stop: Beer and a cigar

They key to drinking coffee black is one of two options: 1) Desensitization through endless repeition or my preferred method 2) finding coffee that doesn't taste like boiled crap. My favorite everyday go-to is Eight O'Clock Bean brand's Colombian Peaks. Colombian coffee is generally very tasty - mild, light roasted, not too offensive, good flavor, and this brand in particular is a good value for the money and steeped in nostalgia for me since it's what my Dad drank while we were growing up. The smell is soothing and relaxing. I grind my own with a burr grinder, and the jury is still out for me as to whether it's better to freeze it or not. I venture into independent coffee shops when I can, and I've had all kinds - roasted in-house, free-trade, organic, imported from African coffee farmers, carried by mules in South America, etc. The hard part is finding a good local coffee shop on my work commute. I moved from a city that had tons of great coffee a year ago, and I miss them. I either make my own, or I can get by on Starbuck's Blonde Roasts. These are the only Starbucks roasts that occasionally sneak over the line from tolerable and almost approach kind pretty good. While I sometimes drink it black, I prefer coffee with a little cream/milk as I find the flavors are very complementary. I get a sweet coffee drink once or twice a year. I've had my annual pumpkin spice latte for the year.

Figures that I'd head to the grocery store a few minutes ago & find that they had only vanilla, as opposed to regular unsweetened, almond milk. First-world problems, I suppose.

Ugh! Yes, the unsweetened is so much better than the vanilla. I don't know why, but that vanilla almond milk somehow offends my palate.
