Thanks all for the votes! Apologies for the later post, I was just frittering and wasting the hours in an offhand way. It's a gas! Anyways, lately I have been stuck loving jungle related comics! Thus for this week, post the best jungle related comic you can find that was put out in the 1940's.
That's right! I impose limits gosh darnit! Anything 1950 and newer...no thank you!
Here is mine to start: Post one classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before February 2010. Covers must be posted before voting begins. Voting takes place on Tuesday, February 11th, beginning at 12:01 am PST and ending at 11:59 pm PST. Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or whose cover you simply like the best. Put your choice's name in bold. The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends. The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. If you don't think a cover fits the theme, don't vote for it. Please don't post disparaging remarks about it. If a cover is more recent than the classic time frame, kindly point that out so that the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins. Two posters may not use the same cover. Have fun!

Did anyone think I was not going to use this topic as an excuse to post some good girl? If so, then shame of you. There is so much going on on this cover that it is easy to miss that our heroine is being attacked by an octopus in the middle of a savannah!

That pre-1950 criteria made it tough... there are some real killer jungle covers between '50 and '54.
But anyway, from April, 1944-- cover by Alex Schomburg:

Like to go with comics I've held in my hands, and this is a favorite: Jumbo Comics #78, Aug. 1945... I used to have that Sheena #4 too!

Cody, your character seems to be wearing city shoes in the jungle. Shoe store in the jungle?

But anyway, from April, 1944-- cover by Alex Schomburg: There are definitely some good ones into the 50's but perhaps that is for a future endeavour should I find myself victorious down the line ...
