Usagi Color Classics #2Story and Art by Stan Sakai Colored by Ronda Pattison Summary: In this newly colorized reprinting of a classic tale we revisit the story of Usagi's early days. Plot: As I said about the previous issue, though more simplistic than his latter stories Samurai is none the less one of my favorite stories. Though short and sweet the story encapsulates much about what has always drawn me to the book; the friendship of Gen, the focus on honor, Cultural insight, the awesomely choreographed samurai fight scenes, and strong interpersonal drama. Wrapped all together those elements make for a great tale, for new readers and old alike. Coloring: Pattison continues to add a fantastic element to these re-printings, the warmth she imparts to these pages is just as wonderful as the story itself. Grade:10/10

Shazam! #11. Written by Geoff Johns. Art by Scott Kolins. It took 11 issues to get here but the Shazam Family finally goes up against Sivana. Mr Mind, Black Adam and other classic villians in a new updated Monster Society of Evil. This story took way too long and the delays absolutely made it worse. I am going to re read this story in one sitting once #12 comes out. I suspect it will read better. However as individual issues the pacing was horrible. If Eaglesham is done on art Kolins does a decent job. Honestly I'm not crazy about the return of Superboy Prime and Billy's Dad with powers. 6/10.

The start had a lot of promise, I might check it out in trade when it's all done.
