OK, the field is set. I took my best guess as to seedings. 16 teams in a single elimination tournament, similar to the NCAA.
The poll will lock Monday, March 9 at 6 AM EST.
So, just vote for your fave, and hope that they can make it on to the next round!

Eisner wins.
Still can't forgive the Silver Age X-Men for being the worst Marvel super-title for years.

It just occurred to me yesterday that the New Mutants were eligible for this thing. I'm surprised that nobody mentioned them during the play-in round.

Put them up against the Seven Soldiers of Victory and shuffle them into the competition. Unfortunately, with the first round already underway, I don't really know how to squeeze them in. Plus, putting them up against a low seeded group like the Seven Soldiers of Victory (basically a #4 seed) would mean that the New Mutants are a #1 seed, which ain't right. I guess I kinda goofed by not having them in the play-in round, at least. I guess with them not starting until 1983, they slipped my mind.

Does X-Men have more garbage than Freedom Fighters? Yes Does it also have more greatness? Yes.

While Eisner created or co-created most of the members he had absolutely nothing to do with any iteration of the actual Freedom Fighters though.

I almost went Freedom Fighters because X-Men has so much bad stuff. Not just the original run, but so much of the entire run. The incomprehensible timeline nonsense, the over the top melodrama, the overdone art, the overexposure. There's far more bad stuff with the X-Men than there is good in my opinion. At least the Freedom Fighters as a group are mostly a blank slate.
I ended up voting for X-Men, but it was close, and I don't think they're likely to get my vote in any future rounds.

This one was WAY tougher for me than probably any of you.
X-Men when they were great, were Great ! but there was lots of garbage too.
Freedom Fighters have never been great, but I like the characters and that whole vibe, plus they're underdogs here, so, my vote goes to the FF.

It took me about ten seconds to decide on The Freedom Fighters.
