Well, it's on to the semifinals of the Classic Superhero Group Tournament!
The Avengers easily won Avengers-Defenders War II 20-6
The Legion of Super-Heroes surprised the not-so-merry mutants of the X-Men 17-10
The JLA staged an exciting comeback against the earth-2 JSA counterparts 15-12
The Fantastic Four showed those young Teen Titan punks that it was clobberin' time 18-9
Who ya got here, the Avengers or the Justice League of America?
Poll will close Monday March 23 at 6:30 AM EST.

Avengers has been and always will be MY TEAM SUPREME out of all the team options available. At least they were until Disassembled came along. I mean really, how can you go wrong with Lee, Thomas, Englehart, Busiek, Stern, Kirby, Heck, John/Sal Buscema, Adams, Buckler, Cockrum, Perez, Byrne and others providing decades of enjoyment and fun?!?

Much as I love em both, I like the rotation and diversity of The Avengers; agreeing with my brother-from-another-mother brutalis, this is all pre-Disassembled or as it's otherwise known, the death of the true Avengers.

Gotta go with the Avengers. In my opinion, one of the Top Five super-hero comics sequences is Avengers #1 to #4 and FF #25 and #26. And furthermore, there's bunches of great Avengers stories, with art by Don Heck, John Buscema and George Perez!
I like the JLA well enough, but the first thing that pops into my mind when I think of the League is JLA #60 with Zazzala the Queen Bee and that great scene where Batgirl is grabbing tiny Flash and using him as a weapon to hit Hawkman. It's not quite the same.

Yeah, I love the JLA, they've had several great incarnations (Satellite era, Giffen/DeMatties era/Grant Morrison's JLA) but I think the Avengers have had the longest run of (mostly uninterrupted) greatness of any group, from Roy Thomas's stuff in the late 60's up through #297 in 1988, basically 20 years of greatness, or near-greatness. So my vote goes to the Avengers.
