We've finally made it to the finals. It's going to be the Avengers vs. the Legion of Super-Heroes!
The Avengers defeated DC's premier superhero group, the JLA, 14-7.
The Legion of Super-Heroes and the Fantastic Four tied 10-10.
I'm using my executive power to give the win to the Legion, in part because, as I have been monitoring the voting, someone actually removed their vote over the weekend for some reason, so while the Legion was winning 11-10 for a few days, in the last day or two, someone "unvoted" and it wound up 10-10; another reason for me to give this "W" to the Legion is to give us a Marvel vs. DC final; and my final reason for giving them the win is that, while my first ever superhero comic was an issue of the FF, I like the Legion just a little bit more. Hey, sometimes it's good to be the organizer.

I love the LOSH but AVENGERS will always be my favoritest team supreme. Over the years the Avengers have expanded so dang much they have even more team members to choose from than the Legion does. But the Marvel Trinity of Cap/Shellhead/Goldilocks trumps Garth/Imra/Cos for me. And in IMO Avengers has the better and more unique stories over all throughout the years alongside a much larger company of Villains keeping things interesting. Avengers for the win...
Now when is the Avengers/LOSH crossover mini-series coming out? Can't wait for the comedic pairing of Beast/Wonder Man going for laughs against Matter-Eater Lad and Chameleon Boy. Oh my stars and shape changers! And what will Tony do when Cosmic Boy leaves him running around in his tightie whities? Does Mjolnir stand a chance against Element Lad? And Cap will most assuredly out angst Lighting Lad any day of the Millenium! Scarlet Witch versus White Witch is must see! Timber Wolf against Hawkeye in the cranky pants contest of the century is guaranteed entertainment value.

As far as voting, I haven't voted yet. If you put a gun to my head, I'd probably have to go with the Avengers, with great hesitation and deliberation, but I just might vote for the Legion if I see they're getting their young butts kicked. I'm still internally debating this important issue! |

Much as I love the Avengers, my two fav groups are the JSA and the Legion, so Legion it is.

Well, it looks like the Avengers are the CCF Super-Hero Group Champions! Not a huge surprised, though I am surprised that it was the Legion that they met in the finals. I thought the X-Men would have fared better, but I seriously underestimated the (well deserved) vitriol against the ridiculous shenanigans of those merry mutants over the past three decades or so.

I thought the X-Men would have fared better, but I seriously underestimated the (well deserved) vitriol against the ridiculous shenanigans of those merry mutants over the past three decades or so. Might make for a quite interesting variation if pitting specific runs of teams against one another. Like Lee/Kirby X-Men vs Lee/Heck Avengers or Englehart/Perez Avengers vs Shoter/Perez Avengers . Shooter/Swan vs Levitz/Giffen LOSH. Lee/Kirby FF vs Thomas/Buscema FF or Fox/Sekowksy JLA vs Englehart/Dilling JLA. Love of specific creative teams makes for quite a different challenge. |
