In the LL lettercol a couple of issues later, a reader wrote that "The depiction of Herko is about the best I have ever seen in any comic" and praised Schaffenberger's ability "to bring out so much pathos with such simple and uncluttered drawings." {Spoiler: Click to show} Yep, that letter was written by one Mr. Roy Thomas

BTW, who is that supposed to be in the topmost painting of "the Nut Gallery"? I recognise Joe Namath and Woody Allen in the other two but can't place the other one though he looks vaguely familiar, whoever it is.
