I like that the Phantom Stranger #26 cover is not busy as some of the others here (not that there's anything wrong with that)...but it's still detailed. I think putting the action on essentially one side of the cover was an unusual choice. And the cover background color is not all one solid color, there are shade-transitions (I'm talking about the actual comic's cover and not just an online reproduction). I can see how this one would stand out on the stands, especially back then in 1973.
