Not the Marvel Comic. We all have What If scenarios dreamt up in our heads based upon our love of comics/movies/music/books so I figured a place providing us a moment to sharing our unique or outrageous or wildly interesting concepts might be entertaining.
To start things off I spent many a night in thought of What If John Buscema worked at DC instead of Marvel? A favorite imagining was Big John inked by Murphy Anderson for a long run of many years on Superman. Oh the joy of being a teen beginning collecting my comic books with monthly doses of wonder and power of the Superman family from the spectacular pencils & ink of the team of Buscema and Anderson. Can you imagine the fun and excitement stapled together for us to have enjoyed. Oh What If I Wish...

I like John Byrne, both the writer and artist. I enjoyed his work on all kinds of things from the Superman reboot and Fantastic Four to his Next Men run.
But I imagine a world where Byrne worked on licensed properties such as Transformers, G.I. Joe, Masters of the Universe, Thundercats, etc. Whether it’s Byrne drawing Lion-O or writing a Transformers mini-series, the “What if?” Is strong in this one...

Oh What If John Buscema had worked on Iron Jaw or Claw the Conqueror? How magnificent could they have been?

Three in increasing scope and scale...
What if Joe Kubert did a Captain America book set in WWII as a companion book to the Invaders in the 70s?
What if Will Eisner hadn't left comics to do PS Magazine for the military and had found a way to legitimize comics as an art form exploring multiple themes, topics and genres in the 1960s (rather than having to wait for Maus to break the barrier with a Pulitzer in '87)
What if the comic industry instead of settling on direct market distribution when its newsstand market had shrunk to irrelevance had made a capital investment in infrastructure and made changes to format to create a new viable product for the mass market and a viable path to market to keep it from becoming a niche hobby industry?

Yes to Kubert on Cap, the Invaders, and any wartime-era comic!
Frankly, yes to Kubert on anything, including "What if Joe Kubert drew romance comics?"
What if Dick Giordano had inherited the Weisinger titles at DC?
What if DC had given its batch of unique late 60s titles like Bat Lash, Anthro, the Creeper, etc. more than a perfunctory chance to catch on?

What would the Marvel Universe have been like if Joe Maneely and Matt Baker hadn't both tragically died young just beforehand, and had been part of the Bullpen in the early 60's?

What If Fawcett continued to publish the Marvel Family? What If the Flash had bombed in Showcase #4? What If super heroes had stayed popular post WWII? What If Star Trek the original series had stayed on TV for 5 seasons?

What If Star Trek the original series had stayed on TV for 5 seasons? What if the Internet had existed in 1955 when Flash debuted and w had comic fans react then the way they do now whenever a change or reinterpretation is made to a classic character? Would the Silver Age have happened or would the backlash to the Flash have killed it? #ThatsnotmyFlash -M

What if publishers had free-license to use each other's characters for a year?
OMG...Punisher meets Betty & Veronica MAX....cover & inner-art by Dave Stevens who's got permission to be back from the dead to get this project going.
My books will be Hard Rated-R....whiners can bugger off, I'll do a special flip-the-birdy cover for you.

What if the soft reboot of Superman, by Denny O'Neil, had been allowed to make fundamental changes, like the John Byrne revamp?
What if Martin Goodman had agreed to putting Jack Kirby on salary and providing health care (he moved to California because of his daughter's asthma)? Imagine the 4th World unfolding from the aftermath of Ragnarok, in Thor....
What if Goodman had given Steve Ditko a percentage of the profits from merchandising Spider-Man. What if Ditko had rejected Ayn Rand's philosophy?
What if Alan Moore had a lawyer (or a better one) scrutinize his Watchman contract before signing it.
What if Sheldon Mayer had gone to work for Fawcett or Timely, instead of All-American? Would Superman have been published by DC? Would Scribbly been a long running cartoon elsewhere? Sugar 'N' Spike? The Three Mouseketeers?
What if Archie had been honorable to Dan DeCarlo? Or Bob Montana?
What if Siegel and Shuster had consulted an attorney?
What if the internet existed when Bob Kane was listed as sole creator on Batman?
What if DC hadn't appealed the lawsuit with Fawcett, after losing the initial round?
What if Time Warner had tendered an offer to pay off Marvel's creditors in exchange for full ownership?
What if people with real publishing experience still ran DC?
What if the Russian River had never flooded Eclipse Comics' warehouse, leaving their back issue stock intact?
What if Mike Friedrich had published Cerebus?
What if First Comics hadn't tried to revive Classics Illustrated?
What if DC had maintained their relationship with both Capital and Diamond? What if Image had stayed with Capital? What if Marvel had purchased Capital, instead of Heroes World?
What if DC had proceeded with Alan Moore's Twilight?
What if DC would have done the wedding of Clark & Lois when they had originally intended, instead of after the tv series got desperate for ratings?
What if DC restarted everything after Crisis?
What if Amalgam had been an annual event, from DC and Marvel?
What if Dick Giordano had been made DC's publisher, instead of Carmine Infantino?
What if Neal Adams hadn't gone insane, during the Continuity Comics era? Or at least appear to have done so?
What if Image had shipped their issues of Deathmate on time?
What if Jim Lee had remained at Marvel, instead of leaving with the rest?
What if Don Newton had not had a heart attack and worked for another 20 years? Gene Day?
What if speculators had not been a factor in the Image launch?
What if Jim Shooter had maintained control of Valiant?
What if Charlton or Western had actually cared about making money publishing comics, rather than keeping printing presses going?
What if I had an editor?

Well, he met Betty and Veronica , in The Punisher Meets Archie; so, are you suggesting "meets" in a more biblical sense? 'Cause we could just go Tijuana Bible with that. Or are we talking about Betty & Veronica, Girls With Guns? If we are going to resurrect Dave Stevens from the dead, I want Bettie & Betty & Veronica & the Rocketeer. Maybe Cliff fries the Punisher with his rocket exhaust. Then the girls do some photos and film loops for Irving Klaw and Cliff sulks for a bit, until Bettie makes it worth his while. Then he runs into The Spider and Operator 5 at the annual Pulp Heroes Convention.
