Would jumping long distances (from one zip code to another zip code) be considered as "flight" like the way the Hulk does?

Jumping is its own thing.

What about Marvel's Captain Marvel? I don't actually recall, but I imagine that when he was a Kree military officer his powers of flight were probably due to some Kree technology. But after his re-invention with the power cosmic, etc, I assume he was able to fly on his won. The other possibility that comes to mind is one of the new X-Men - Storm, for example, I think was able to fly - or was she meant to be riding some weather-system she created with her storm-related powers, in which case you could argue it wasn't essentially different from Ice-Man riding his ice-bridge? Storm uses her weather powers to create wind that lofts her. That's why she wears a huge cloak attached to her wrists. Do I believe this would work with any degree of stability and precision? Nope! I suspect many Marvel heroes who "just fly" mention telekinesis at some point. Can Jean Grey 'fly' via her TK? I can't recall. I've been reading the Busiek/Perez Avengers run lately which has some good examples for this OP. Justice flies via his TK and by default (or Cap's orders), he usually carries aloft those members who can't fly. Firestar can fly yet her powers are microwave-based. Yet it seems like anyone with any kind of fire-based power can fly. As earl mentioned, Vision's flight may be due to lowering his density. Wonder Man can fly but he's in his energy form here doing so (instead of ye' old belt jets) So energy = no mass ergo can fly?? As for Thor, I've just always wondered how he controls/alters his flight path. Using his strength, he alters the trajectory of his hammer throw? Once in the air, can he increase his flight speed any? If so, how?

Alpha Flight's Northstar flies via kinetic energy I think. I am not sure. Any CCF Alpha Flight readers out there that can verify this?

If so, how? and if he throws it while flying, when it returns to him, wouldn't he then be pulled in the direction of it's flight path on the return, away from where he caught it? -M

Was there ever an explanation of how Sunfire flew?
Or any of his powers, come to think of it.
Thermal updraft bafflegab?
