Stjepan Sejic's did a teenage spin-off of Witchblade named Twitch (Teenage Witch), but it was changed to Switch for publication as Image Comics already had McFarlane's Sam and Twitch and wanted to avoid confusion (did certainly not stop them from producing two completely unrelated series called DIE and Die Die Die! at the same time).
Not quite the same: the series Suske&Wiske by Flemish comic creator Willy Vandersteen was originally called Rikki&Wiske, but as the first issue was actually published under the first name (followed by nearly 400 issues of Suske&Wiske, so I guess the name change had its use), it just misses the theme of this thread.

I think I've seen early house ads for "Crisis on Infinite Earths" that announced it as "Universe." Officially 'DC Universe: Crisis on Infinite Earths'(with the DC logo serving as part of the title...which might have caused confusion). And 'Legends' was announced as a 'sequel to Crisis', and then as 'Crisis On Captive Earth'. And here is that initially promoted logo:

And here is that initially promoted logo: The ads with that logo ran as recently as two months before 'Crisis' was released. Talk about 'universal' confusion.

A good thing, as this is one of the greatest logos every created.

Wikipedia says Epic Illustrated "was initiated under editor Rick Marschall in 1979 under the title Odyssey, and originally set to launch as an issue of Marvel Super Special. After Marschall learned of at least seven other magazines titled Odyssey, the project was renamed Epic Illustrated and launched as a standalone series."

There was a previous thread on this topic here. Wow, and I started that thread as well...that's embarrassing! Sorry, gang, I completely forgot bringing this up before, so I guess we can just let this new version expire...

Just for a second there, I was afraid it might be an alien thread creating exact replicas of our earth threads as part of some insidious plot. What a relief to find it's only a simple, earth-bound lapse of memory, something that could happen to any NASA scientist occupying a key position in the Space Program - hey, wait a second ...

But you’ll know. Oh yes, you’ll know.

The merged threads are time-shifted like Earth-1 and Earth-2. Similar backgrounds, like Bruce Wayne's parents get killed in both worlds. But on one of them, these heroes were active during World War II. That's why I mentioned in Universe/Crisis in both threads; I was destined to repeat some key Earth-2 events later on Earth-1.

Since the merger, I can feel my memories dissolving...there go GIANT-SIZE SUPER-TEAMS featuring THE DEFENDERS, THOR THE MIGHTY, and FU MANCHU...

I believe we lost Brother Power the Geek #3 in the merger.

I thought Spock was the only guy on the ship who could do the Vulcan Thread-merge.

I thought Spock was the only guy on the ship who could do the Vulcan Thread-merge. You're thinking of the Mirror Merged-Threadverse, where Psycho Pirate killed the Anti-Anti-Monitor and the Forward Flash with his agonizer. Bearded Spock barely survived that encounter.
