Okay, I checked hondo's list of previous topics and it looks like we haven't done this one yet, so here goes! I'll call it Cars/Automobiles-In-Motion (and-Under-Their-Own-Speed) What I mean is: cars/hot rods/jalopies that are shown in motion/moving on their own--not just sitting there, and not being lifted or pushed by someone (sorry Superman and She-Hulk) or being propelled by something else. I'd also like to have cars here, not motorcycles or futuristic space-age stuff or globular Popemobiles or Fantasti-Cars--you know, stuff that doesn't really look like/isn't a car. My cover below, from my beloved Secret Six #1, provides a perfect example The Rules: • Post one classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. • Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before Aug. 2010. • Covers must be posted before voting begins. • Voting takes place on Tuesday, beginning at 12:01am PST and ending at 11:59 pm PST. • Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. • Put your choice's name in bold!• The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends. • The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. • If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it; please don't post disparaging remarks about it. • If a cover is more recent than the classic time frame, kindly point it out so that the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins. I hope everyone has fun with the topic and that it's not too restrictive. I'm looking to seeing some great and interesting covers here!

No, I'm not ticked that you used that cover as your example. No, not at all.

Hate to copy @mrp, but no one does cars in action like Toth.

Cover by Michael Golden and Josef Rubinstein
I wanted to go with another Golden cover from this run, but it was an 18-wheeler not a car so I don't think it would have counted.

Adventure Comics #58, January 1941 And finally, the last installment in my no-longer secret personal Classic Comics Cover Contest Challenge! Since Hour-Man only appeared as a reprint in Brave & Bold, I had reluctantly decided to un-include him from the roster of characters I wanted to feature in my little project, but I promised I'd keep an eye out for a chance to finish off the full set of every character ever cover-billed. And now I've done that. Thanks for the non-restrictive topic, Farrar!

No, I'm not ticked that you used that cover as your example. No, not at all. I love that series! (Though I didn't realize until later on that the cover action connects right into the story and the first page.)

Hate to copy @mrp , but no one does cars in action like Toth. The fact that Hot Wheels will almost certainly never be collected is one of the great comic book tragedies.

This is the last issue of this series. It lasted 20 years.
