Shang Chi first appeared in 'Special Marvel Edition' #15 and by #17 they renamed the comic Master Of Kung Fu. It's it's the 100th actual issue of Master Of Kung Fu. Cool, I remember him starting in SME, but thought they started him with #1 for MOKF.
Nice Day cover.
First Shang Chi First issue just called Master Of Kung Fu I'm fine if folks won't vote for my choice if they don't think it's legit - Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

So many of my favourite series didn't last 50 issues, let alone 100+, that there aren't all that many anniversary issues that stand out to me. However, tere are two I can think that I hope make an appearance in the thread eventually.

Doesn't that make it the 102nd MOKF? Well, Marvel made Master Of Kung Fu #118 a double sized issue to celebrate the 100th issue that was actually just called MOKF, vs "Marvel Special Edition Featuring The Hands Of Shang-Chi Master Of Kung Fu". So someone thought it was a special anniversary when they published the comic book, and if I remember correctly it was noted in the letters column as such. Your mileage may vary. It's the 100th new issue of MOKF. Issue 20 was reprinted in issue 54 (The Dreaded Deadline Doom!), so that's how they worked issue 118 to be the 100th. As of issue 117, only 99 individual stories had been published under the Master of Kung Fu masthead (not counting Giant-Size or Annual issues, which, technically, had a different title, just like those first two installments).

JK. brianf did not "create" that as an anniversary. brian said it was stated that it was the 100th issue right in the book. Take it up with Ralph Macchio (the editor)

Take it up with Ralph Macchio (the editor) It doesn't claim to be the 100th issue, and it has a house ad instead of a letters page. Perhaps the story was originally intended for the 100th issue, #116, but got pushed back when they needed to run a couple of duff non-Day fill-in issues.

It's the 100th new issue of MOKF. Issue 20 was reprinted in issue 54 (The Dreaded Deadline Doom!), so that's how they worked issue 118 to be the 100th. The reprint issue was #53. Even if you ignore that one, 118 minus 16 minus 1 is 101.

I declare this meeting of the OCD Club adjourned. We're comic collectors, OCD is part of the package.

I've had Fantastic Four #236 on my mind lately... Extra image in case one doesn't work... Out of curiosity why is it on your mind? I love JB'S run. It was the first thing I collected when I started on my FF run.
