I don't care for the Bat-Godfather version of Batman since Dark Knight. That head up his butthole, always right even when he is totally wrong, overbearing, always has to be in control Bat-daddy knows best for the entire Bat-family. Don't believe in this psychotic approach.
Prefer the 70's human Dark Knight Detective who was capable of admitting to mistakes and his failures, embraced and needed and wanted his Bat-family and Super-friends in his life. The penultimate detective using his brains and body in unison against the villainy of the world. Able to smile once in awhile without breaking his face!

#20 Hulk/ Thor What If? # 45
Every other Hulk/ Thor battle has resulted in a tie , that is the way Marvel comics has established their strength level. Along comes this tale that has the Hulk totally bestial and without the Bruce Banner personality to temper his behavior. When Thor finally engages him, he breaks the Hulks neck to prevent any further damage to humanity. Where did Thor get this level of power ?

Thor and Hulk being at the "same" power level does not prevent one from being capable of harming the other.

Wasn't this kind of thing the whole point of What If?

Thor and Hulk being at the "same" power level does not prevent one from being capable of harming the other. The same power level prevented any one of them from getting the upper hand. Snapping his neck looked pretty easy and it indicates he has superior strength.

Wasn't this kind of thing the whole point of What If? The premise was the Hulk was out of control not whether Thor was suddenly stronger.

This is my look at the following combat matches in comics and just had to shake my head. There's just no way these battles end like they did. # 1Batman beats SupermanSuperman just has too many powers and abilities to be beaten by Batman. He could have fried him with his heat vision from a distance. But would he have fried him, that's the question. In fairness, and it's been a while, so forgive me if I am misremembering, but Superman had just literally survived a nuclear explosion and was a skeletal husk near death, so stands to reason he was not at full power. He was also not trying to just take out Batman as quickly as possible. He probably did not see him as much of a threat, so he was pulling his punches and trying to talk his friend down. Meanwhile, Batman had to use every trick in his book just to barely maintain an edge long enough to fake his death. I can give this one a pass. There is no serious competition between the two in an actual fight, though. Superman at normal capacity could absolutely curbstomp Batman.

The trouble is that writers never saw it that way. That’s why we got a Superman vs Batman movie.

Yeah, but its intriguing to have a normal human rise "above his station" to challenge someone who could easily kill any other ordinary human. It shows the human mind can overcome what all others would describe as impossible or suicidal.
