Might be shipping to a foreign address? I know someone who sent a slabbed book to Belgium and it came up to something pretty high as well.
A little cd from Italy cost me 18 euro shipping....

Shipping to Japan is insane. Cost me more than the contents of the package.

It could also include shipping insurance cost.
Speculation seems to be moving on from Wandavision to Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Cap 323 with the first John Walker and 354 with first Walker as USAgent are both going nuts right now.

Why would someone pay $50 shipping for comic book? it was international shipping, the seller wasn't in the US I believe, I only saw a quick screenshot of the ebay auction in the video. -M

As will Tales of Suspense #75.

So when did the preview of a first appearance become the first appearance? Recently, a friend sent me a snapshot of an auction (I don't think it was from eBay) of this issue: The bid price was up around $1000, apparently because of the 5 page preview of the Toxic Avenger contained within the issue. This blew my mind. I was an avid reader of Marvel Age back in the day, having had a subscription. I dug through my run of the title and sure enough I have this issue. I just never thought that an in-house news mag would ever hold any significant value beyond nostalgia. I did some checking through eBay and a few other sites. Apparently, this is the first appearance of Darkhawk: Listed prices for this issue started around $50, heck Lonestar comics has a CGC 9.4 copy listed for $135. What?! (and yes, I have this issue too). A preview article here contains sketches of Spider-Man's black costume a couple months before the release of ASM #252. Lonestar has a CGC copy 8.0 for $82. Also, since his passing, anything featuring Stan seems to be in high demand too. Like this: Lonestar has CGC copies of 9.8 starting at $499. I find it simply mind-boggling. However, as others have said, while I may have these issues, I don't really want to part with them because it would break my run and because of nostalgia. Marvel Age was a fun title and back before the internet, the best way I had to keep up with their monthly release schedule.

I had a bunch of Marvel Age. I think Westfield Comics sent them free with each order. After a while, they were taking up space, and since I figured they were essentially adverts, no one would really want them when they were out of date, I...recycled them.
Fortunately, I didn't have any of the above issues.

The Marvel Age 12 has the preview of the black Spider-Man costume, but with a red spider than the iconic look. Still, people are gobbling them up. It's the same debate about Thor 229, because it had an advert for Hulk 181 in it, announcing the appearance of Wolverine. So prices of this issue and Daredevil 115 are moving up in price. Some stupid insane prices for those.

Why would someone pay $50 shipping for comic book? I’ve noticed CGC books are around 25.00 to 50.00 shipping

I’ve noticed CGC books are around 25.00 to 50.00 shipping Others have mentioned that these auctions might be overseas situations but with the Post office, you could ship it Express mail for less than that and the winner gets it the next day. I believe that some sellers like to pad their sale with the shipping.

The "Sheesh!" on the bottom left hand of the Stan Lee MA cover speaks for itself in regard to how much it's going for.

I was doing some cataloging this morning and suddenly realized I own X-Men #4 -- the first appearance of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Must have bought it for next to nothing back in the day, as I don't even recall ever adding it to my collection. Holy heck, this thing is selling for a fortune because of WandaVision. Guess I'd better get it listed...
Edit: I can't stop thinking about how utterly WEIRD it is that the most valuable possession I own...the most valuable possession I've ever owned, is something I barely care about and didn't even realize I had!

You’re hotter than a pistol. You should give stock tips. LOL I've always felt that the collectibles market made more logical sense than stocks. With collectibles, you at least understand what you are trading and why it has the value that it has. "Hey, here's a stock worth $100 per share." "Why?" "Well...the company is projected to do well next quarter." "And how does that translate to this stock? Am I going to get a percentage of the profits?" "Well no, but they may choose to pay you a $1 dividend." "Because they are doing well?" "Well no, the divided is the same either way." "So...this stock is worth $1?" "No"

Well, you almost have the same problem explaining why a character that no one really knew before this year is commanding these prices. Good luck , I hope you really cash in.
