Apparently, the 1st appearance of Gorr is super hot right now (I guess he's going to be in the next Thor movie?)... Thor #2 from the 1st Jason Aaron series seems to be going for $100+ (lots more for high CGC)... got an advert from a local store advertising a 9.8 for $499 like it was a great deal. I was a bit shocked, but seems to be selling.
#6 of the same series apparently has a cameo (not sure if intentional or not) of Knull from the the current 'King in Black' event, and that's also going for $50-$100.

Well the discovery of X-Men #4 in my collection prompted me to start another wave of ebay auctions this afternoon. I expect two to sell for a nice chunk of change. The rest are more iffy, but these Wanda-related books are never going to be worth more than they are right now, so we'll see. www.ebay.com/sch/shaxper/m.html?item=193952195590&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562Really looking through my collection today, I realize I still have a ton of key books to sell that I'll wait on until the relevant films are released. Some very nice Black Panther, Black Widow/Taskmaster, Eternals, Moon Knight, and Master of Kung Fu stuff! And is Marvel going to get around to making a Deathlok show or movie?? Seems inevitable. I firmly believe we are in a new comic book bubble that will eventually burst, so I'm here to sell anything I can bear to part with while it's still hot! Problem with Deathlok is that he already appeared on-screen in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., played by J. August Richards. True, there are multiple iterations of Deathlok in the MU, so they could shift to a different one for a solo show or movie, but they already explained the origin of making one in what I suppose is currently a non-canon entity in the MCU (or at least one they don't want to acknowledge)

I'm absolutely floored by how my ebay auctions are going. Seriously, we are in a new collecting bubble, and it's going to burst sooner or later.
Burst bubbles are often replaced by new ones....but I think those books will remain in demand for some time. But I'm glad you were happy with your return, it's kind of rewarding after years of spending money to get books.

It took over 25 years for the back issue market to get this hot again after the last depression. I don't know that I'll have the patience to be doing this kind of selling when I'm in my late sixties. But thank you.

That is awesome Shaxper! Glad you could make some cash while being off work. I'm betting that Avengets 1st appearance for Dane Whitman may increase in value once the Eternals movie comes out. Good chance the Avengers stuff with him and Sersi bonding might jump as well. Imagine if there is a Krakas and Outcast scene and how their appearances could rocket?!?

Man, if you don't have those books and want them, you're at a bad time period. Timing is everything in life. Years ago I had to rebuy my Starlin Warlock issues and ended up getting them for around 2 dollars a piece. Shortly After that, the GOG movie hit and the prices jumped up dramatically.

Well, in most cases, there are quality reprints available too. Obviously, it's not the same as owning the original, but when there's a hundreds of dollars difference, I think you can manage to make peace with it. My own belief is that these prices won't stay high forever, so I'm hoping I'll be able to rebuy some of these at a far lower price down the road. I definitely intend to buy back Jungle Action #5 and 6, at least. X-Men #4 may stay up there in value.

There were a couple of Cap focused books in this past week's FB auction (the Bloodstone Hunt 6 part series including 1st app of Crossbones, and a John Walker Cap issue). Bidding started at $3 for the series and $1 for the single issue. When I left for work 15 minutes before the auction ended, I had the winning bids for each at $6 for the set (a buck a book) and $3 for the other issue. When I got home from work to look at the results, there had been a flurry of bidding on each in the last 15 minutes and the set went for just under $50 and the single issue for $25. There are a lot of resellers (amateur dealers who do cons and antique mall booths mostly, but a few shop owners as well) and they were the ones who ended up with these, so those are prices they think they can resell and still make a profit at. SO the heat on Cap books is already in effect and it's hitting a wide range of issues. -M

This is the one series that I would not consider breaking down into pieces based on market speculation. Took me too damn long to put the entire thing together for that. I'm absolutely gobsmacked by the $455 for the Jungle Action #6. I paid the princely sum of $5 for a Fine/VF copy of it at the Pittsburgh Comicon back in 2013, which was obviously well before the Black Panther movie made anyone care about it, but that would be an ungodly ROI if I decided to sell it.

Those trading card prices are NUTS. I feel like those were practically being given away last time I saw them at a card show (granted, baseball card guys don't care much about non-sports), but man... what's driving that? Just general nostalgia?
