There are problems?? You guys must be modding excellently because I certainly haven't seen it. Also, a classic Simpsons reference?? I think I am going to like it here quite a bit. As I've said multiple times over the last few days, SO GLAD I found out this community existed. I'm sorry it took CBR exploding for me to find it, but I really appreciate Shax's many invitations over at CBR. Thanks for doing all of this.

I first read "food porn", but that also gets on my nerves.

Because you don't live down here in the South. Not sure if I've mentioned this yet, but I live in Mobile, AL; mindless superstition + lack of culture + humidity for the win!

I always liked the name of the town, though. I just came across it again as it's mentioned in passing at the start of To Kill A Mockingbird. Probably more fun to say it than to live it, though.

It is an extremely odd choice for the name of a city. It's pronounced "Moe Bile" just to be doubly annoying.

My mom lives in the Florida panhandle (Niceville, east of Pensacola) and I used to end at the Mobile airport every once in a while. I always think of that Bob Dylan song, Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again.

Freudian slippage...

I've always loved Goethe Street in Chicago, pronounced "GO-eh-theh."
And Louisville in Kentucky, pronounced "Loo-vil."
And in Indiana, there's a very small town called Cadiz, pronounced "CAH-diss." And I grew up with that one, so I tend to pronounce it that way when I'm not careful.

Here in Ohio we have Versailles, pronounced Ver-siles, and back in New England, we have Peabody, MA pronounced Pea-buh-dee all crushed together trying to make it one syllable in a rush, and Worcester, MA pronounced Woo-stah. Regional dialects are fun for everyone.
