So we have proof this isn't based on Kirby Eternals. Trailer states Eternals were "brought here" and function under "orders" of the Celestials. And it looks like this "version" of Deviants are not humanoid and more or less just "monsters" causing vast destruction.
Hmmmm, servants turning on their masters to protect humanity that they have grown to admire and love? Guess the Director read Kirby's Galactus and Silver Surfer and as Hollywood screwed that up in the FF movie she figured why not TOTALLY change what is at the HEART of Eternals, nobody will notice.
May still be an interesting movie, but really, stealing one Kirby Concept to ignore another Kirby concept? That's Hollywood for 'ya! At least Kirby would take one of his existing concepts and go Kosmic Krazy with it advancing his thoughts and idea's upon the subject. Thor begat New Gods begat Captain Victory. Captain America begat OMAC begat Silver Star.

So, the Avengers (or the JLA) have changed their name to the Eternals and they face a big threat to Earth that only they can fight. Substitute Deviants for the hordes of Thanos (or Darkseid). Add portentous slow-moving music, stir, and release.

I really liked what I saw from this trailer. Probably should have been the first one released. Chole Zhao is going to knock it out of the park with this film. The Celestial reveal was amazing, and the only thing I wanted to see that I didn't was the Ebony Blade. I'm really excited for this film along with Shang Chi. It's going to get people out of their comfort zones, since the general populace with even a casual interest in comic books have no idea what either of those properties are. Bravo Marvel Studios.

I'm really excited for this film along with Shang Chi. It's going to get people out of their comfort zones, since the general populace with even a casual interest in comic books have no idea what either of those properties are. Bravo Marvel Studios. It won't bring people out of their comfort zones. it won't bring people out of their homes.
I certainly hope I'm incorrect, and this is a hit? But I'll stick with my prediction from earlier this year.. this is gonna B-O-M-B. . .it will be the 1st Marvel film to stink up cinemas in quite a while.

Most everything is bombing money wise as everyone is avoiding going to the theaters with Covid. The few movies I have gone to there have been 6-10 people in attendance. I saw the largest crowd (nearly full with every 3rd/4th seat closed)at F9 and it got rude and ugly with disruptions and having to stop the film twice due to "families" being disruptive.
Personally much of the movies are failing as Hollywood has gone into full CGI summer blockbuster mode for EVERY movie. Add to that movies no longer play out for a year in theaters and are pulled after 2 weeks if doing poorly (no time to build/grow with word of mouth) and are on DVD/Blureay within 3-6 months, Hollywood is messing it up demanding high/quick returns.
