Newburn #1 : pretty good concept... a PI that's is sponsored by all the crime families to investigate when murders happen, but medicore are and the fact that there was an incomprehensible back up story will likely mean this is a drop for me. Not terrible, just not worth the price. Maybe if you're a big Chip Zdarsky fan.
The Rush #1 : OTOH, this one is a keeper, but I expected it to be. I don't think I've read anything bad by Si Spurrier (even if I don't get his obsession with Legion). Set in the Alaska gold rush... a woman goes off on her own to try to find her son where her husband comes back with him. Much better art and a great start to the story... highly recommended.

I actually enjoyed the main story in Newburn #1 quite a bit. The back up, meh. I actually liked Phillips' (the son not Sean) art in this, but tastes vary. -M
