No spoiler quick thoughts for now.
No Way Home was spectacular. Haven't been that mentally drained in a while. Arguably the best MCU film. Will see again. Be sure to stay for both post credit scenes.

Great movie. The right balance of humor and tragedy and action. Loved all the different scenes that I don't want to spoil.

Yes, it was really good. I went to an advanced screening which had social distancing....will wait for the crowds to thin out before going back.

Just saw and REALLY enjoyed all the aspects of the film. Lots of creative scripting, CGI truly captured the essence of Spidey's movements. Superb acting from everyone. A very emotional and tear packed movie. Not a dull moment to be found.

Just got home from seeing it with the family. Thoroughly loved it. Not sure where they go from here, but really excited to find out.

Some of the camera work seemed a little shaky during a few scenes but probably the best Spidey movie ever made. I NEVER thought they would make this concept for a movie work so well. Very, very excited for Doctor Strange 2!

Will someone who's not seen any of the Disney+ TV shows be able to follow the storyline?

Will someone who's not seen any of the Disney+ TV shows be able to follow the storyline? All you really need is to have seen the previous Spider-Man movies and know who Doctor Strange is to get into this, it has no real connections to the Disney + shows.

All you really need is to have seen the previous Spider-Man movies and know who Doctor Strange is to get into this, it has no real connections to the Disney + shows. There's a post-credits scene (not the mid-credits scene) that sort of linked to a Disney+ show, but even for that scene it's not really necessary. So yeah, I agree that previous Spider-Man movies are the only past stuff that's important to be able to follow the story. Avengers: Infinity War would be helpful to be familiar with Spidey's past interactions with Dr. Strange, but a viewer wouldn't be lost without it.

Finally saw this. We were waiting for digital and it kept getting pushed back. I can't believe they made something so comic-booky as all hell work so well! I agree it had the right amount of fun but also sadness. Spider Man can't be 100% happy, he has to be somewhat tortured. I also LOVED (major spoilers ahead){Spoiler}the interaction between the Spideys. Absolutely made the movie. The rest of the movie was just gravy. It was great seeing Tobey especially again, and I knew Andrew was going to be the one to save MJ, and I almost teared up along with him. Alfred Molina is a joy as always, and Willem Dafoe being an unhinged psycho is always a treat. As my wife pointed out, he is a great actor. The way he slipped in and out of that meek, tired broken man and into a psychotic monster so convincingly was great.
The plot was a little stupid at points, specifically breakout of all of the villains and taking them to Happy's apartment was jumping the shark for us, but it was still a fun movie overall. My wife wasn't prepared for how sad the ending was going to be, and I explained how how historically Spidey has to be somewhat tortured, and this is actually a much better take on a generally-REVILED comics story. We traded theories on how this is resolved, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Fun movie. The MCU-guided films remain, at worst, pretty good and at best superb peak popcorn cinema with a heart. This was somewhere in the middle for me, but I liked it.

I really enjoyed this film as a coda to to the various Spider-Man franchises, and yet I have serious problems with it on two other levels:
1. Tom Holland is presumably done with the franchise, so we have this total bummer of an incomplete ending that may never get resolved AND the script didn't even do its job justifying it. It was the wrong choice on every level.
2. While this isn't necessarily the fault of anyone involved in making the film, it's killing me that folks are praising this as the best MCU film yet. It's fun, nonsensical nostalgia with a random tragic ending tacked on. Utter fanservice advancing nothing new. I look at the first cycle of Marvel films as Marvel comics in the '60s. Better characters and visuals than much of what had been done in the medium before them, but still relatively uncomplicated and simplistic. With Shang-Chi and the Eternals, I was beginning to hope this was now Marvel in the '70s, with bold new genres/properties/characters and deeper storytelling. The Eternals got universally panned for delivering just that, and NWH is five giant leaps in the opposite direction. If what sells for Marvel going forward is nostalgia and regular resets, then we have fast-forwarded to Marvel in the 2000s, and I don't plan to stick around for that sh*tshow.

I don't think Shang-Chi was 70s Marvel.. it just took two similar Marvel properties (Shang-CHi and Iron Fist) and mashed them together to make something they could market to China.. it wasn't particularly unique or ground breaking, just a standard Kung Fu movie. I haven't watched Eternals yet.. just no interest in the characters and the preview look boring as heck.. I'll probably break down and watch it at some point, but meh.
Far From Home did a good job putting a bow on the franchise, so the can proceed from here, or not. Given the real life contract issues, I think it was a good choice. I don't really see it as a cliff hanger. The story ended, Peter is moving on with his life without his friends... a new chapter awaits. Seems set up to run Peter the college student who lives on his own, POST high school friends.. maybe dating Black Cat.
Could they go back and re-join him to his high school friends? Sure.. that was done several times in the comics... but they don't HAVE to. And that was the point. They have multiple choices, depending on how Sony decides to play (or not)

I don't think there is all that much to worry about. In interviews Sony says they aren't done with MCU movies, this is just their first trilogy of Spidey films. Plus it seemed pretty clear to me they hinted that somehow MJ is going to remember him. Maybe "their bond is too strong to be hidden with magic" or it will somehow be restored. The way she looked at him at the end hinted that this is temporary, and with the multiverse stuff and Dr. Strange, the possibilities are endless."
I'm not too worried.
