More directly funnybooky... Got a copy of the reprint edition of Odkin, Son of Odkin by the great Wallace Wood. Just a bit less than $3 including shipping.

I recently picked up the first book in Wood's trilogy from the Heavy Metal warehouse sale, but I haven't gotten around to tracking down the rest of it yet. I'd be interested in where oyu picked it up Slam_Bradley. -M

I have a HUGE want list and I go through periodically to see if there is anything cheap. This was in much lower grade (acceptable) than I would usually consider buying, but I figured for that price I could buy a better copy if one becomes available.

Last one for today (probably) Went ahead and got a digital edition of Krazy: George Herriman, a Life in Black and White
by Michael Tisserand. Just haven't been able to find a cheap hard copy.

I just bought two long boxes off of Craigslist. I have no idea what's in them! The lady I bought them from doesn't know anything about comics and just had a picture of the boxes; from the description, which was scant, it sounded like stuff between 1975 and 1995. Which could be anything.
I'm going to go through them tonight. It's like Christmas - what did Santa bring me?!
I'll post photos once I've gone through them.

If they're still polybagged and have the Deadpool card in them, they go for about $4 apiece (not including shipping) on eBay. It could be a veritable goldmine!

Okay, pictures tomorrow, too late for them now.
Nothing worth very much; someone had definitely picked through them at some point. The only thing of value - try not to laugh - was a set of Labyrinth #1-3 adapting the David Bowie movie, which have gone up quite a lot since his death. i think the set I have is probably worth $30-40.
Beyond that, there was some cool stuff, just not valuable. Probably close to 100 issues of Conan and Conan the King, all of which I already had. Another 50 issues of Punisher, long runs of Suicide Squad and Iron Man, a number of Spidey and Daredevil books, a lot of cool genre books like Warlord, Sgt. Rock, Semper Fi, etc. A whole run of Strange Tales vol. 2 with one of the best Dr. Strange stories ever. And, probably the best thing in there as far as I was concerned, The Nam #1-50. I actually needed #29-50, so that was cool.
I also picked out a bunch of random nonsense, because wow, there were some obscure stinkers in this collection, which I love. So bad that Sledge Hammer #1 didn't even make the final cut.
I got this stuff all super cheap - about 25 cents each - so I'm pretty sure I can resell everything I don't want on craigslist and get my money back.
Photos of the keepers tomorrow!
Oh, and there was one copy of X-Force #1 - but it had been opened. Someone actually read that crap besides me apparently!

My LCS (sent them an email yesterday) has a Copy of Brave and the Bold #63 and they have two copies available and I bought one of them for $32.50 on store credit and it will be mailed on Wednesday. I'm going to read it once and after that its goes to my safety deposit box at my bank. It's a book that has an unofficial rating of 7.0 FN/VF Fine/Very Fine and I don't know that I've overpaid it or not. I used my Senior Citizen's discount on it. I just wanted a copy of it. Very cool! I never even know that there was a B&B with Wonder Woman & Supergirl.

Okay, so as I mentioned, the actual highlights of the collection I bought were The Nam #29-50, Labyrinth #1-3, STNG #1-6, and several issues of G.I Combat. Beyond those, though, I also got a few weird, random comics too good to pass up. First, some adult comics: And then this batch of total stinkers: I'm not sure which is worse, "The Invisible Four of Kung Fu & Ninja" or "Barbaric Tales," but I can say after reading it that "Dino Riders" is absolutely craptastic, and not in a funny way. It's just very, very poorly done. Ugh!

There don't seem to be a lot of copies of this issue out there. I think I paid 21 for mine. The second most I ever paid for a team-up book!

They had one and my LCS didn't want to advertise it and copies of this book is not easy to find; but they got it from a second hand source and they are willing to sell it to me. I've put this in my safety deposit box and thinking of holding on to it for a good 5-10 years and sell it. I got it as an investment and investment only. Read it once and in the box for good.

Went to a CS in Queens where they have a basement of 1 dollar comics. Mostly from the last 5 years but I managed to find these: The Surfer /Rune book was a flip book that actually had a story drawn by John Buscema.
