1st FB auction of the new year ended today. This is what I wound up with (all for much less than sticker price) I regrettably parted with my copies of JLA/Avengers a number of years ago so jumped at the chance to replace them at a reasonable price. I've been slowly putting together the Verotick Death Dealer series for several years now (it's only 4 issues, but I find 1 every other year or so it seems, I need one more), and the other two were minor keys that can be a little pricey in runs I am chipping away at via bargain bin diving but was able to mark those off the list at much less than going rate, so I grabbed them. -M I can't believe the prices people want for this series given that the prink run run must have been huge. I have the originals and also the omnibus. I got the omnibus for around 60 dollars years ago.

I had no idea that was worth anything either! I would have thought it wouldn't be worth much over cover.

Not quite a purchase. Fellow CCFer antoine contacted me to let me know he had some of the war books I mentioned looking for in the New Years resolution thread that he would send to me if I was willing to cover the shipping from our northern neighbor, which I was glad to do. Arriving on my doorstep this afternoon was a handful of Our Army at War/Sgt Rock issues... and a decent chunk of issues of Marvel's The 'Nam... which put a dent in my want list to finish off that series. Thanks again to Antoine for his kindness and generosity. -M

First e-bay purchase of the year... I went looking for Jonah Hex: Two Gun Mojo (after reading Red Range on Hoopla, I really wanted it). Found it for $16 for the mini, which wasn't a great price, but the seller also had a good chunk of 80s X-Men (10 issues from 153-180), 1 and Superman(6 from the early 80s) for $2 each, so I grabbed those to make me feel like it was a good deal .

Depending on the day you ask me, I might say that Two Gun Mojo is my favourite Jonah Hex story of all-time. I own a lot of JH comics, and that mini is very, very good.

Not a comic but it led to a lot of comic reading. I finally got it . It’s one of the best TV shows ever. I know it’s silly. But when I look at what they try to pass off as gritty and realistic in any of the Batman movies, I think the 1960s Batman TV series is the least silly of all.

Also the Batman TV show avoids the tiresome “death of Thomas and Martha Wayne” fetish. Lots of extra points for that!

Not a comic but it led to a lot of comic reading. I finally got it . Fun tv watching. Grew up with it and can enjoy it every time I put a disc in. This is what comics should be like. Colorful, fun, silly, entertaining, imaginative and worth seeing again and again.

I think I'm 3 short of the set but I'll get those another time, these are all solid high grade, like they just left the newsstand.

Whenever you find kid's titles in that kind of condition it's simply pure gold. Nice.

Yeah, kids' versions of anything can be tough to collect if you want them in nice condition. I remember having the devil's own time of finding good condition copies of the 1977 and 1978 Muppet Show LPs. They're pretty common on the used vinyl market and pretty inexpensive, but the vinyl is usually completely trashed since they were mostly bought for and owned by young children who had no idea about record care.

All those comics were made to be consumed and not stored away as an investment. It's a wonder any comics or toys exist from the past.
