I've been somewhat remiss in posting here, I was off work from the 12/23/20 to 1/4/21, And while I bought books during that period, I used most of my time off doing other things. Consequently, I haven't been very active on forums (in general) lately. Anyway, I've got a huge pile of books to read, catalog and put into the collection, the following is only around 15% of what I bought, but posting everything would be a little excessive. So here are some odds & ends from my purchases since Thanksgiving. Of course, as usual for me, they are all over the map genre-wise, since I collect just about every genre and publisher out there. Some of these came from Lonestar/MCS, but the vast majority of them came from local shops-- mostly from their after-Christmas sales.

Action # 1 ? You're rich ! Welcome back man. And to think that I only have $5.00 (actually $2.50, as it was 50% off) invested in it! This one is actually the newer LootCrate edition. It's great because it reprints the entire issue page for page, including ads. I have a few of the older Action #1 reprints, and most of them just reprint the Superman story.

First ebay order of the new year. I've found a seller there whom I have ordered form a few times now, who sells lots of comics and vintage paperbacks and combines shipping, so it essentially becomes a flat rate shipping if you order multiple items from them. This order was only a handful of comics, but a bunch of vintage paperbacks to fill in some pulpy series fiction I am collecting/reading. The comics-a trio of Sgt. Rock issues and a Bronze Age Hawkman team up in World's Finest... and the paperbacks, two lots of 3 Doc Savage paperbacks... and some Avengers & Destroyer volumes, plus Whom Gods Would Slay by Ivar Jorgensen I am not familiar with Jorgenson, but it's a gorgeous Jeffrey Jones cover and the basic concept is Vikings vs. an alien invasion, so it was a have to have kind of thing. -M

I was just reading a couple mid-70s FF, and The subscription adverts all said 'we mail flat'... so I guess that was the time when collectors were starting to be heard.

Classics in new trades arrived from Amazon today. 2 books of Eternals reading to dig into which I haven't read since they were first published. The 1985 Eternals mini all 12 issues including Iron Man annual #6, Avengers 246-248 and the What If back ups.
Then the Celestial Saga from Mighty Thor 283-301 and annual #7. So plenty of cosmic goodness ahead to enjoy. Wahoooooo!

I've got no books with subscription creases....it might have been a thing of the day but it was an abomination. Well, I can't afford to get all high grade books. I'm happy with anything I can read and not worry over.

Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell Picked up a nice used copy of this one recently (from Darko Macan) - it's the edition published by Dark Horse in the mid-1990s. This is part of my attempt to remedy a huge blind spot in my comics reading, manga, by at least reading some of the classics or better known exponents of the genre. So far, I have this and the first two Lone Wolf & Cub digests. Still shopping around for cheap, or at least reasonably priced, editions of Akira and Nausicaa in the Valley of the Wind.
