I just got this in, took me long enough to find a copy I could afford! shaxper I'm getting there! Once I get that #2 I can really start focusing on finishing the whole series.

I bought some classic comic art that I wanted to share with you all. This page from Smoky (Dell Comics-1967) is a page from the movie starring Fess Parker. Art by Jack Sparling.

Congrats, my friend! I still maintain the first handful of issues are my favorite of the entire run. Nice book. What number is that ? #1. Believe it or not, it's only the fourth hardest to acquire from the early run, with #8, #2, and #6 having been the hardest when I was assembling my run last year. Scott already has #8 and #6, so he's well on his way!

I think maybe some of my buddies on this forum might suggest a psych evaluation for these buys but , I found these Image books all for 1 buck each. I was curious about Bloodstrike almost 30 years later and picked the first 2 issues. Deathblow was by Alan Moore and I wanted to see if he spun some gold with the 2 issues. The Supreme books I always liked and the Shattered Image was a long time missing book that I think is now complete. I got these all in PA at a store called BAM ( Books and More). You paid them a buck, or they paid you? Sorry, bad joke but I couldn't help it.

Yakov's problem was historical timing. By the time he could have made it big, the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc pacts had dissolved. If your schtick is all "Iron Curtain" jokes, you're done for after that.
Ben Stiller did it best--

Because I recently finished my Green Lantern binge read (and binges tend to interest me in what comes next, against my better judgment I bought an Ebay lot of Action Comics Weekly 611-617, 619-624, 626, 637 to get some of the Green Lantern stories there I've never read. I also figured I'd check out some of the other serials.
I've also got over $150 worth of credit card reward points, so I'm debating whether to get some TPBs. I'm thinking about maybe the Bronze Age Justice League of America Omnibus vol. 2 (or some other omnibus) of maybe some of the Aquaman TPBs with Jim Aparo art.

I doubt I will be adding any new back issues for a while since I am now unemployed for the foreseeable future unless I sell/trade some stuff (and I may), but I had a few things on the way before I went into the hospital that arrived this week. First, the last couple of lots I got from the FB auction group... I almost pulled the trigger on this book twice when Jesse had it at shows, and he even offered me a pretty good deal the second time, but I ended up getting it for even less in the FB auction. and this one is for my wife... she had gotten a wood print of that WW#1 cover as part of her Secret Santa from work last year and I had been keeping an eye out for a copy of the actual book to add to the display with that piece, so when it popped up in the auction group, I snagged it. I also had a Lonestar order on the way... a handful more Rock issues... a pair of Ghost Rider issues... one more issue of Robinson's Scarlet Witch series and an issue of Doug Wildey's Rio... and a batch of inexpensive red dress covers... and that's a wrap for a while I believe. -M

I don't have many floppies of comics these days...I usually stick with Omnibus or TPBs of the stuff I like. However, the salesman at the print shop I work for showed up today with a big box of comics he said I could go through and take anything I wanted. It was a mixed bag from the Bronze Age up through the late 90s, but I did grab a few to read. There was even a copy of Amazing Spider-Man 78 in there!

Take, meaning take what you want for free ? That's so cool.
