Bought on the 16th, received on the 14th via UPS. English eBid seller I had to contact privately, as they had left the platform: A nightmarish Brexit experience, not only did I have to pay 29€ in taxes (which I kind of expected), but the parcel was frozen in Madrid for over 3 weeks. I initially wanted the SS HC, and started adding issues as I saw different offers. BlackMark, for example, wasn't even on my wish-list, but I already had the first book as reprinted by Marvel in “The Savage Sword of Conan”, and this was only 5€. It reprints the story published in "Kull and the Barbarians #2" and finishes the second "book".
Not among my favorite PAD hulk, but at 6€ in FN condition for the lot, I couldn't resist. My second less liked Byrne issue. 3€. The last one of his run, I wouldn't get for free, though.

The 70's and the 80's, those were the years. I bought what I could, with what little money I had then, when I made the switch to American editions. That was 30 years ago, now I'm trying to get anything I can think of.

It's quite time-consuming, to find the kind of deals that are buried online. Which is what you need to do, unless your pockets are like Hank's.

The best deal I got on a book in the last couple years was when I found this old, rare item at a store in Switzerland. It was way too much for me without waiting months to save up for it... but then, another fan in Canada pointed me at a seller in France who had it for HALF what the other store was asking. It was STILL pricey-- around $70.00-- but I was able to go for it immediately. (Not many times I can say I saved $70.00 on a deal.)
I spent the next couple months cleaning it up, coloring it, and translating it into English...

I'm not sure I understand what this is???

No doubt, but I also think Lee did a better job than what he used to. By this time, he had long relinquished writing chores at Marvel, and he just chose to participate in this project because he saw it for what it was: a unique opportunity. He gave it everything he had.
Edit: tried to resist, but I can't help being provocative. The opposite could also be said. I've read (or tried to) most of Moebius' work, and I always came away with the impression he had been smoking, while imagining what he was going to draw. At least, here, there's a story, even if not a great one.

I totally understand what you mean. If you'd like more realistic Moebius, you should check the classic Blueberry.

Flea mkt yesterday had boxes and boxes and more boxes of dollar comics, but I only ended up getting these seven: Reading two of the Eclipse Monthlys, I was reminded how much people were feeling their way in the 80s. The stories still have a "fannish" feel, but heartfelt. Rogers' "A Foozle" is the type of fantasy stuff i don;t normally gravitate to, but nicely done. Boyers' "Masked Man" is still a real good read--could've been great with a strong inker.
I picked up the SPIES book on the strength of the cover and seeing Evans while leafing through. When I got home, surprised to see Kirby (and Ayers?) in there.
