This isn't a " classic " in our definition of things , but it's from our very own Crimebuster . Thanks for the signature, man. Sure it is. Crimebuster just didn't take my advice to add an additional textbox on the cover proclaiming it "An Instant Classic!"

If one wants, digital comics can be acquired on the cheap. Free, even. And the quality has gotten a lot better the last few years. Old golden age comics can be acquired digitally, for free, and LEGALLY from: Digital Comics Museum
And other places online.

That's a nice haul, @bert . Can't beat $5 a pop. For that price, I would have grabbed all of the Sandmans the dealer had. Also, good choice on Strikeforce Morituri. it was the weight.
if I had a 2nd suitcase, no problem. . but couldn't carry all the weight.
so it became a choice of: get the Sandman hardcovers (many of the stories I had in softcover), or grab the two I KNEW I didn't have (and retailed for over $35), and pick up new reading.
so the 2nd option won. ahhh..that's always tricky. Back in my book store days, when I went to conference I was selling at I could buy stuff and ship it back with the left over books... it was a beatiful thing. If you don't have such a benefit though, the shipping probably cancels out the sale and more though.

Those two annuals are pretty good - but then again, I'm a big Elseworlds fan, so my opinion may not be the most objective in that regard.

Went to a show in Buffalo Saturday. Picked up too much stuff. Top row is FCBD stuff I'll send to the grandkids. Bottom row was also free. Top row were $1 each; bottom $2 or $3 each. I think I somehow missed these when they came out. The big money purchases. I got the MAD at a flea mkt Sunday for $5. Complete w/ insert.

There needs to be a big hardcover collection of that Jonny Quest series.

I'd say it's worth it for the Jose Luis Garcia Lopez artwork alone but that would be doing a strong disservice to Marty Pasko's excellent tale which should have inspired more Superman/Joker encounters.

It also contains the first Roy Thomas/Gene Colan Wonder Woman story, which comes between WW #287 and #288. I'm not sure whose idea it was to have a title reboot start in an entirely different series, but it was a stupid idea!

Paid $17 Cdn on Sunday for this one. Had to for the cover. and from the same dealer $3 Cdn for this Neither are the copies I purchased, but the Adventures into the Unknown is in roughly the same shape and the Action Comics isn't (more looks like it was owned by someone not overly concerned with condition, but wasn't a slob either)

Was in the area of our local HPB this afternoon running other errands, and stopped in. Picked up a few comic related items (and a whole batch more non-comic stuff as they had an extensive buy in of Hard Case Crime paperbacks up for sale). Here's the comic-related stuff... Spirit mag #31, one of 4 issues I needed to complete that run... a quartet of Groo issues.... a vintage paperback collection of Hagar the Horrible strips... and a newer volume, the first volume of Jodo's The Sons of El Topo (I picked up vol. 2 a while back but had missed vol. 1 when it was released) also picked up a handful of Donald Westlake volumes and Max Allan Collins Quarry volumes from the Hard Case Crime line, a pair of later Destroyer volumes, and an EdMcBain 87th Precint volume (a series I haven't sampled but that keeps getting raves here so I snagged the volume I saw for $3 today). -M
