So the Lonestarorder I mentioned in an earlier post arrived today. Only 3 books, but three books that bring me a lot of joy. a lower grade copy of Hot Wheel #3 featuring Toth at and cover. That give me 3 of the 5 Toth issues of the series (6 was by Neal Adams not Toth) I also got a copy of Flash Gordon #7, one of 2 issues I needed to finish the King/Charlton/Gold Key run. that leaves me needing only #11 to finish it. Dale is in red, but I am not sure if that is a dress, looks more like a coat to me so I am not sure if it quite fits in my Devil in a Red Dress collection. The third was a copy of Gladstones Duck Tales #1. This completes the Gladstone run for me. I still need a handful of the Dinsey issues to complete that run, but Gladstone is complete now. And that's that. -M

Sometimes you get a win from a seller who doesn't really know what they have, and people are afraid to bid because the price is too cheap. I get the feeling this is what happened with this one. The book is complete.

I got the full set of 33 Wizard Ace Editions in a great deal, approx $3 each after all costs factored in. Wizard Ace Editions were limited edition reissues of classic comics and key issues from the Silver, Bronze and Modern Age. They were printed with a deluxe plastic (Acetate) over-lay cover that lays on top of a new fully painted card stock cover, which then combined the images from the two covers. The interior pages of these comics are printed on high quality paper.
Includes The Amazing Spider-Man 1, The Amazing Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man 14, The Amazing Spider-Man 129, Animal Mystic 1, Ash 1, Avengelyne 1 The Avengers 4 Bone 1,Creed 1,Daredevil 1,Dark Horse Presents 1,Darkchylde 1,The Darkness 1,Dawn Drama 1,Fantastic Four 48,The Incredible Hulk 1,The Incredible Hulk 181,Lady Death Vs Purgatori 1,Madman 1,Mars Attacks 1,Marvel Comics 1,MegatonShi: The Way Of The Warrior 4,Star Wars: Dark Empire 1,Strangers in Paradise,Ultimate Spider-Man 1,Wanted 1,WildC.A.T.S 1,Witchblade 1,The X-Files 1,X-Men 94,Zorro 3

A lot of them, some signed as well, but not the complete run. The Daredevil 1/2 was a big surprise, great cover, but inside reads like a novel instead of a comic.

Having received some back pay this week (and before we realized our washing machine was about to die), I paid a lot of money to Canada Post so it would bring me a comic. Said comic was way, way cheaper than standard shipping costs. I already had that story in different formats, but since I'll review this issue soon I thought I might as well see the original coloured version.

BWS at his best. It's a pity the forum user who said he was a bad artist isn't around anymore

BWS at his best. It's a pity the forum user who said he was a bad artist isn't around anymore 😲 What a strange person! I love BWS art and have collected probably the majority of it. I'd say his peak was Weapon X, but I love his Conan and most recently enjoyed Monsters. Considering he's been working in comics for 55 years or so, it's a pity he didn't do more for us to enjoy. I also enjoyed even his earliest work, despite it not being a patch on what was to come. The only criticism I'd recognise of some of his work can be his faces- an effeminate Thor or too many recurring long faces, for example. But that's a limited issue, and he's more often than not great at faces too.

I kick myself for not buying all the prints he produced through his Gorblimey Press back in the day. I was just a tad too young and inpecunious.

I had a small "odds and ends" order show up, and I'm totally smitten with this first book! Loved "Little Golden Books" when I was tiny but didn't know this one existed, such a fun little volume. Mary Marvel co-stars as well! And the rest: They prefer to be called The Professor and Mary Ann. That's a cool Little Golden Book.
