This is actually a spin-off of the Zoom Meeting thread, and not of the Wakanda Forever one! So, Icctrombone, what were the points you wanted to raise about the film? Enquiring minds want to know!

Hey Ben, the movie was okay for what it was. It was a movie to mourn and celebrate the late actors death. As for the movie itself , my major gripe was the last battle between Siri and Namor. He threw a long spear that impaled her in the abdomen. How did she pull it out and continue fighting? That was a mortal Wound. There were other minor quibbles but I don’t remember them.

That annoyed me as well, but it's become a cliché nowadays. A hero is dealt a seemingly lethal blow, collapses, reflects on their apparent defeat, only to then grind their teeth, do a back flip and kick the villain's ass. Most of us get incapacitated when we stub a toe or hit our funny bone, but a film hero can get impaled and keep on ticking! That and an obviously dead villain suddenly coming back to life for a final jump scare are two things I wish modern movies would stop using.

That wound wasn't ambiguous. There's no way that a person survives that injury. Maybe if they added a line that the suit mitigated the spear...

At this point I think we can openly discuss the movie. It's been streaming for over a month. Anybody who doesn't want spoilers should stay away from this thread. So what of the myriad things wrong with the movie didn't you like?

They could have mentioned that the suit, thanks to its magical vibranium nanotech, could momentarily patch up the wound and prevent Shuri from dying then and there. I would have accepted it as "normal" comic-book technology. (The very same thing happened to X-O Manowar, so we have a precedent!)

My wife and I watched this movie tonight and I had the same reaction to this scene, it didn't really work for me. Not believing Namor would back down either even though I know they tried to play it at the end that it was a strategic move. Subby is not exactly "calculating" in the heat of battle (though obviously the movie interpretation of the character was a bit different). I probably felt the same as you about the movie overall. I'm still so sad about Boseman's passing

The plan and the execution the Wakandans had was ridiculous on many levels. And BP only won because of some extremely lucky events. Plus, I have been to desert shores in Africa, they are not arid and dry, there is plenty of moister from the sea. The whole movie had some really dumb plot points through out.

The plan and the execution the Wakandans had was ridiculous on many levels. I failed to see what the Wakandans were trying to accomplish. If they were just after bloody revenge, it was easy for them to just drop a few bombs, since they knew where the city was... but they didn't. If they wanted to somehow capture Namor and have him stand trial, the best way to accomplish that was not to float a boat over the territories of an aquatic people! It looked as if they just wanted to vent by punching a few faces, which is a pretty poor foreign policy.

And they attacked a water people whose numbers are more than the blades of grass with one ship and some warrior with spears? The most impenetrable country on earth could not figure out how to defend it's rivers hundreds of miles inland?

A country that can be surrounded by an energy shield, too.

They had to leave the river unguarded so that the movie could happen.
