Well, I'm not doing much right now because I have a cold and feel lousy, but last night I went to see The Theory of Everything, the film about Stephen and Jane Hawking based on Jane's memoir. Great film with fantastic performance by Eddie Redmayne. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get an Oscar.

Just started watching The Vampire Lovers. Though I may have watch this before as the Baron's opening monologue is quite familiar.

Now it's Escape From Alcatraz which I know for sure is a first time viewing. Great pic, also features Patrick Mc Goohan in one of his most ironic roles - he's now a ruthless, vindictive prison warden. It's said to be based on a true story....

Saw Big Hero 6 tonight with my six-year old. It was pretty decent, but I have a major complaint about the theater. The movie was scheduled to start at 7:20, but between the commercials, trailers, and pointless animated short beforehand, the feature didn't start until 7:50. You just can't do that for a movie aimed at little kids, because halfway through, a handful of them started getting really restless. I'm now going to hide in my bedroom to.escape the six little girls in my living room. I took the fam to see Big Hero 6 twice in the theaters. My girls LOVE Baymax and Honey Lemon. Did you catch the secret ending with the Stan Lee cameo? I hope there are more Big Hero 6 movies, as this is one family that can't get enough of them! I had advance notice about the post-credits scene from my buddy who owns the LCS I shop at. He didn't tell me what it was, but just that I needed to stick around. It was cute, although the guy in front of me (who was with his wife and two kids) said "I sat through the credits for this???", so it was obviously a "YMMV" situation.
My daughter loved Baymax, but she didn't seem to really latch onto any of the other characters all that much, at least none that she talked about on the way home or today. I thought Honey Lemon was cool, Fred was annoying (I cannot stand "dumb slacker" characters in any medium), and Wasabi and Go-Go were underdeveloped.
I'd love them to do another one, and since this one has apparently been pretty successful, Disney would be foolish not to make a sequel, although they haven't done an Incredibles 2 yet and that movie was both successful and a fantastic film (not just a fantastic super-hero film, fantastic family film, or fantastic animated film, but just a great movie all the way around).

Yeah my girls adore the characters, especially Honey Lemon. She has quietly become this year's Elsa, at least as far as toys are concerned. The Disney Store sold out of the 11" Honey Lemon doll that my 6-year old wants for Christmas...I had to pay twice as much for it. Worth it to see that smile on her face Christmas Day. I'll have to disagree with you on Fred though. Who wouldn't want to have a room like Fred's? He has great taste in comics too.

Fred's stuff was cool, but I'm over the whole "whoa, dude, I'm dopey and act like I'm stoned all the time" characters. Of course, that may be because I fondly remember the godfather of all of those characters, the immortal Jeff Spicoli, and each subsequent iteration is but a pale shadow.

Just finished the pencils on the first page of a 4 page prologue story I am doing for the studio. The story has been banging around in my head for a few years and I got tired of trying to find an artist to do it, so decided to bite the bullet and do it myself. I have been working on the page for a bit now (I scrapped two previous tries a few panels in) in between working on pages for the coloring book the studio is putting out early next year, trying to find my pencilling voice for the story and taking some input from a few studio mates and my lovely wife (who has no problem at all telling me when my stuff sucks! -art or writing so when she says it is starting to look ok, I believe her). Feels good to have a page done (don't even want to think about the inking or lettering yet) but now I am staring at a blank page for page 2 and looking at my script thinking I need to rework the panel structure from my initial idea when writing it...but first maybe some sleep would do me some good. -M I hate the feel of a blank page staring at you and Im my own worst enemy in terms of judgement. I hate everything Ive done. A friend who can give you honest, clear feedback is one of the best things you can have. Hope youre working through stuff alright. Be interested to see some of your work.

Heading off to the grocery store to do the weekly shopping before going to Bible study and church.
I like going to the store early, as there are no crowds, no lines, and the shelves are fully stocked.

Tonight I'm chowing on some fried chicken. We're having a cook up, outside.
Our victim is walking around in the yard in the countryside...he's gonna get some later *evil laugh*
And no, I cannot stand seeing chicken feet in my pot...looks like someone hands...those get tossed out with the head.
My rottie, Agrippina knows something is up and is excited...we take her along as security.

Must be one hell of a chicken if you need security.
