So ... not-nice people are zombies, pretty much, as long as they're rather violent, I suppose.
Going to have to revise my personal count of zombie movies seen from 300ish to, uh, probably 10,000+.
Cool!

Cool! I'll admit I'm not a zombie movie fan, but as I mentioned in Horde, sometimes the story itself isn't focused entirely on the zombies and I like em.

Watched Captain America: Winter Soldier the last couple of nights, finishing up after getting home from work yesterday. Pretty good action flick, though that's not really my sort of thing for the most part, & lord knows neither are superhero movies per se. Cap, of course, doesn't really fit into the Superman-Thor-Hulk mold, though, or even the Iron Man-Batman one, I guess, so that disinclination of mine wasn't much of a factor. Besides, Netflix has been a really fallow source of horror discs (thought the streaming option has been a bit better) of late.
Anyway, yeah. Liked it fine, though not nearly as much as the first one, where the WWII setting largely made the movie for me. Of course, the references to "Capt. America & the Howling Commandos" were pretty jarring, but these things happen.
One question, though, since I haven't watched, & am highly unlikely ever to, the Avengers flick(s?) -- why does Black Widow sound about as Russian as I do? Is there any sort of back-story about her having been so deeply immersed a spy (or whatever) that she completely shed even the slightest trace of her native accent? Or, her name aside (there are plenty of corn-fed Midwesterners or whatever with thoroughly Russian names, I have no doubt), is her character as American as apple pie? Or is it just a fact of life that Scarlett Johansson could carry off a convincing accent about as well as I could flap my arms & fly to the moon?
I sort of suspect that last one ...

Which I would say -- since you mentioned it -- also is true of World War Z, where IMHO the focus is on (along with Brad Pitt, of course) the contagion itself, not those infected by it. Lots of horror movie fans in general & zombie flick aficionados in particular rate that one really poorly, but luckily I really like contagion films as well.

Yes, I was actually surprised I enjoyed World War Z. It may not be anything I watch again but it ranks to me with Horde and 30 Days Later, as I do find the infection scenario more entertaining than the true rise-from-the-dead zombie. Have you seen Horde Dan? I was totally surprised at the ending of it after the final survivors escaped the building. I was like "Holy ___!" Speaking of endings I liked the end of Phase IV.

I did see The Horde but must admit I don't particularly recall the ending. Doesn't mean it wasn't impactful, but rather that I watch too damned many movies to keep them straight.

Still need to watch Phase IV. Remember being intrigued when the trailer showed up on TV when I was a kid. Bought the VHS a few years ago, back before it was re-released on DVD or for streaming or whatever, but never got around to playing more than the first couple of minutes, which failed to grab me.

At some point in the movie, the leading female cop tells the ringleader criminal that "when we get out of here I am going to kill you" for something he did (though my memory isn't working well for me either as to what he did) and then, even after all they went through together, being the last survivors for the better part of the movie, when they do escape the building she immediately puts a bullet in his head, despite her now being alone outside with all these zombies running loose. I just thought it was a great twist in the story.

Thinking about what to do with Thanksgiving this year and I hope to have it taken care of tonight after talking it over with my brother and updating files on my computer too.

I'm sitting on the floor of my kids' school gym while they participate in the annual "Mega Event", which is for kids who sold X items for the fall fundraiser. They have bouncy houses, tricycle racing, hula hoops, snacks, and horrible cheesy pop music being played way too dang loud.
I wanted to be at home watching the Penguins game, but the wife wouldn't let me off the hook for this.
