read my Marvel stuff...
I didn't love Vengeance of the Moon Knight ... I agree I wanted Reese and co. to carry the book for a while... this is why Marvel and DC never have new star characters.
I'm somewhat enjoying Gang War .. I'm reading Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, and this week Spider-Man grabbed my attention. It's not a new story (basically No Man's Land without the catastrophe), but it's been pretty fun so far.
It's funny, these days I find I'm really following writers more than characters, as each seems to have their own Marvel universe.
Not sure I like the concept of Spider-Man 2099 as a horror book, but this particular story was good, and it was a done in 1 story, which was crazy.
The finish of Uncanny Spider-Man was good (if predictable)... not sure if Spurrier is doing any more with Kurt or Legion, but if he is I'm in. Somehow I really just didn't like his Flash , even though I feel like I should.

Got to a handful more books of my new comic TBR pile...
Hunger & the Dusk #5-I am loving this book by Wilson & Wildgoose. Love the fantasy world they are building, the epic conflict in the background and the cast of characters whose story is being told. One of the best fantasy comics that's not Conan that I have read.
Shazam! #5-I was a bit meh on this one though I have liked the run so far. The way Black Adam has been developed by DC over the last 2 decades, he no longer feels like he is a part of Billy's world, especially with the development of the Shazam family in the modern books. He just doesn't tonally fit anymore, and his presence in this story completely hammered that home for me in this issue. I like Waid's run so far, and there were bits in this issue that were part of the big picture that I liked, but for me Black Adam just didn't work in this issue or in Billy's world as they (Adam and the world) are both currently constituted.
Savage Red Sonja #3-I like this Sonja book, it's enjoyable sword & sorcery fare, but it's not quite as good as the main Sonja book is right now.
Speaking of which...Red Sonja #6-a sort of wrap up to the first arc that sets up the return of Kulan Gath. I really dug the first arc but the conclusion was the weakest part of the arc. I am looking forward to the next arc though. Geovani's art is excellent and I really think Gronbekk has a strong handle on and take for Red Sonja.
Doctor Strange #11-a fun issue and I love Bats! I've enjoyed McKay's run so far and this is the only monthly Marvel I am currently pulling.
Batman: The Brave & the Bold #8. This book is a mixed bag. Many anthologies are. The lead Batman stories have been ok, but the other features are what kept me coming back. I loved the villain reveal in the Wild Dog feature, and Aquaman vs. super gorillas is a hoot. However this was the first issue in the run where the Batman: Black and White feature was a complete miss for me. Usually those b&w shorts at the end of the issue are a highlight (I've loved each of the Batman B&W minis DC has done since the 90s, they have far more hits than misses and I like getting self-contained Batman stories). This one just had a weak premise and its execution felt muddled and rushed. Not my favorite issue of the series so far, but I did like conclusion of the lead Batman story this issue more than any of the lead features so far.

I don't know if I've posted previously or not but I'd like to 2nd mrp's recommendation of Hunger and the Dusk Fantastic book with a pretty unique premise... I would actually say it's slightly better than Conan even!
