I know it’ll sound like I’m flattering him, but thank you to Confessor for his classic SW reviews, I head to the review for each issue as I work my way through the issues via Marvel Unlimited (I’m about to read #98…well, later on). I probably read some Marvel tales in the 80s, most likely in reprint annuals or something, but since I got my Marvel Unlimited membership, I’ve been going through the issues, and Confessor’s reviews have certainly provided much context.

It bugs me when polls are at a deadlock, just like it bugs me when my football team draws with another one. 6 votes apiece for Marvel and Dark Horse. Feel free to vote - for whomever - if you haven’t already. (It also bugged me once when I ended up with 666 followers on Twitter. I had to practically beg to get a 667th follower, I can’t have a follower count with that number)

Here, just to please you. (my real opinion was earlier). I kinda wanted to vote for current Marvel as well, because I do think that they deserver more than 0 votes.

I have particularly enjoyed what I read of Darth Vader, including the issue where he threw his weight around in Jabba’s palace.

I have particularly enjoyed what I read of Darth Vader, including the issue where he threw his weight around in Jabba’s palace. That first 25 issue Darth Vader series was pretty good. Some of the best acting ever from a character in a metal mask. The artist had the uncanny ability to use subtle body language to tell you what Vader was thinking. Really great. Doctor Aphra was insufferable, but I liked the killer droids.

I picked Dark Horse, because they reprinted the Marvel material and the newspaper strips, as well as their own material, making for the ultimate line of Star Wars stories. Plus....Tag & Bink! Tag and Mamma Jammin Bink! Disney has wasted all their time on crappy sequels and boring series... when Tag and Bink is where they should have gone. "Manny Bothans died to bring us this information."

Currently, I would have to vote for modern Marvel.
With Marvel's classic run, I have a scattering of issues ranging from the Goodwin/Infantino early run to post-ESB and while most of those issues are good, it was a title I rarely followed as a kid.
Dark Horse is a close second for me more so for their work in the Clone Wars Era and Ostrander's Legacy title. JJ Miller's Knights of the Old Republic was a good title as well.
I'm reading more of modern Marvel's work now though. I think they've done an excellent job overall in filling in the gaps between the movies of the OT while working in material from the solo films, PT and ST. Vader's solo title is typically excellent though sometimes Aphra can be a bit grating. I liked how they brought back Valance from the classic run, a character whose few appearances I do remember. War of the Bounty Hunters was good overall, perhaps a bit stretched in some parts but seeing the resurrection of Crimson Dawn was fun.
I particularly like Soule's work on the main SW title. The current story line of Leia and the Rebellion learning to trust Lando Calrissian has been good especially how Soule is developing & showing the depth of the friendship between Lando and Lobot.

The 2015 Marvel started out as a mixed bag but has really developed into some amazing Star Wars stories.
Now that the Saga films have finished, they can really start to fill in some of the puzzle pieces and bring back some familiar faces from across the movies.

I find it very hard to choose between old school Marvel and Dark Horse. I suppose the honour goes to Dark Horse; as disinterested as I became with the post-prequel status quo, Dark Horse still continued to publish good titles/stories here and there; that's more than I can say for Marvel post-ROTJ.
