A heartfelt congratulations to every member of this community, whether you won, were nominated, or just deserved to be. There were only ten awards to go around, but we all make this place what it is. Thank you!
Every year, I work hard to design these super cool banners so that you can flaunt them with pride. Most of you don't, but I love seeing those that do!
(Oh, and if you want to hear more about what we're planning to replace the Jamies, don't miss the end of this post!)
Now, for those of you curious about next year, I've done a lot of thinking, taken several helpful suggestions to heart, and come up with a basic idea of introducing a special section soon after the Classic Comics Christmas concludes in late December, and having threads in that section that are similar in spirit to the individual Jamie awards, except that there are no winners: just ongoing conversation about really knowledgeable, friendly, and funny posts and members that made this community great in 2024; take away the competition, the rules, the limitations, and just talk and celebrate.
Sounds like a very good time to me, as well as a great way to celebrate with friends.
I hope you feel the same.

THE RESULTS:
"By sheer numbers alone, the guy started twenty-eight threads that are eligible for consideration for this event, and so many of them were truly fun conversation starters, including Mental Health in The Marvel Universe, "Hip" in 2023, Songs and Comics, Just Don't Get The Hype, and What Didn't Hold Up?. I love that he never seems to run out of ideas for fresh, new open-ended questions that keep us talking. Thanks, James!"
"It’s a weekly showcase of comics that you actually own , highlighted by a picture of the actual comic. That’s such a nice touch. It’s a natural extension of the “ what comic did you purchase “ thread but it is a showcase for our members collections. I look forward to it every Friday."
"I really savored the intellectual rabbit hole that zaku's Superhero fatigue and Western movies led us down!"
"He has some fun quips whenever he posts , and sharing a review thread with him is always filled with laughs."
"I don't mean to turn a blind eye to the breadth of other original quality works that have been shared in this community over the past year, but I do feel it's necessary to nominate a previous winner here because Roquefort Raider's style continues to evolve in staggering ways, as does the breadth of his work, Le Bras d'Orion. He continues to raise the stakes with his output, leaving me in total awe."
"I have to nominate farrar, who never stoops to snarkery, always has a word of encouragement (or more), criticizes only in a classy, gentle way, and has been one of the model posters here since forever."
"Those two know how to make silly Silver Age shenanigans a whole lot of fun. I also respect their dedication, updating it regularly over the course of five months thus far."
"The man is a fountain of knowledge on ancient airplanes, music, obscure comics, history and fine whisky! I therefore nominate him as I raise a glass of 12 years old Aberfeldy!"
"aaronstack is still feeling his way through this community at this point, largely sticking to a few choice threads, but adding so much enthusiasm and fun to the discussions in which he participates. As this award was created with the intention of encouraging promising new members to stick around and get a little more involved, I think aaron is actually the perfect choice for this award. It is my sincere hope that he'll keep up the contributions and keep checking out new discussions that interest him, continuing to bring his unique and delightful presence to more and more corners of our vast community."
"In addition to being one of the friendliest folks around these parts who has been with us from the beginning, he has been an active member of the mod team--keeping this community running smoothly--for most of these past ten years, almost single-handedly keeps the Modern Comics section running with his weekly Off The Racks threads, is friendly, funny, likable, and I'm pretty sure there isn't a single member of this community who has a bad thing to say about the guy. This community absolutely would not be this community without thwhtguardian."
A massive congratulations to our winners, our nominees, and everyone who helps to make this community what it is! Much love to you all.
