Horus: Lord Of Light (1963 Book Five) Been wanting to add this book to TSF practically since it started as it's one that I've always had a fondness for. The 1963 books, as I've said before, were probably my earliest recollections of reading something Silver Age Marvel related (or in this case an "inspired homage") as a teenager. Horus stood out to me the most because I was in love with Egyptian Mythology at the time (still kind of am) through the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Much like Hypernaut (1963 Book Three/Tales Of The Uncanny), it's one of the series that I would have loved to have seen continued because of how unique it was (also loved Veitch's artwork), but at least we still have Kirby era Thor (though Hypernaut unfortunately doesn't have much of an analouge outside of Iron Man) {Spoiler: Click to show}-Gumby 3-D #1 (3/22/24) -Judge Dredd #3 (3/29/24) -Green Lantern Corps Quarterly #3 (4/5/24) -Super Mario Adventures (4/12/24) -DC Special #15 (4/26/24) -Oni Press FCBD 2005 (5/10/24) -X-O Manowar #6 and Bloodshot #2 (5/17/24) -Radioactive Man #100 (5/24/24) -Shadowman #15 (5/31/24) -Captain America by Dan Jurgens volume 2 (6/7/24) -Wetworks #1 (6/14/24) -OMAC #1 (6/21/24(

It's a shame that it ended the way it did due to squabbling among creators.

At the time I wasn't really aware of Image (ah the blissful ignorance of being a teenager) beyond Spawn so I just assumed that the book underperformed and they had to cancel it (I frequented the quarter bins in the flea market comic book stall and was kind of used to this from an early age). As I got older though, I thought it was more of a long form joke about comic books under Image umbrella being painfully late

Rick Viech actually did the final issue at another company using different names ( he didn’t have permission because of copyright)
